Pathetic business strategy. Going nowhere. They are slowly killing the company. Discontinuing an one year old phone is disgusting. Right from the beginning of it's release they are ignoring 9R. No proper update , no good intentions to fix existing issues. Now suddenly they are discontinuing for the sake 9RT.

🙏 9R will be my last OnePlus phone. I was so happy using OnePlus 6. Used to get updates regularly along with 6T. Genuine effort to fix the issues were there at that time. Now it's all gone. Only profit and kick the butts of the customers

Please don't jump into conclusions. As @YRJ mentioned, that article is speculation but more importantly only saying that OnePlus may stop manufacturing the OnePlus 9R, now that the 9RT was announced. Your device will still receive updates and support throughout the promised timeframe.

But can you ignore the fact that Oneplus is ignoring 9R in terms of updates? They are not improving the camera , taking time to provide Android 12. I am pretty sure situation will worsen in 2022. They will only give security patch update, instead of providing some real upgrades

The 9R had an update starting on 1st December, that is within the normal update schedule for all OnePlus devices that are in support (which the 9R is). Oxygen OS12 is in testing for the 9R - given the issues following the release of 12 for the 9/9 Pro I would imagine they are making sure that is not repeated for the 9R (and other devices).

OnePlus 9R is definitely a good phone. But very unfortunate that it is under a poor business strategy. Last Good line-up from OnePlus was 6 and 6T. After that they are clueless what they are doing.
Releasing multiple phones without any reason. OnePlus 7,7 pro, 7T, 7T Pro, Pro 7T, T7...😂

how have they been ignoring the 9R? The last update is within the normal update period, and OOS12 is in test prior to release.
