Issue with call recording Jan 14, 2021

    I am rooted via Magisk in my OnePlus 5T running stock Oxygen OS 10.0.1 I cannot enable call recording. I cannot access the stock OnePlus call recorder app. When I press the record button during the call, it works. After the call end and I check my recording, it is a blank recording. i.e. there is no sound in it.

    Even though I have allowed all ther permissions, I keep getting the notification

    "Necessary permissions are denied. Please allow in settings. "


    I have cleared cache and rebooted my phones many times but still I can't enable call recording.
    Call recording app from playstore doesn't work either. The call recording turns out to be a silent recording again.

    Please help.

    Yes. I live in India and have an Indian SIM. I've been using this feature since a long time, even in Android 10 but of lately I don' t know what has gone wrong.

    The recorder version is 2.0.0.2012182.

    That recorder isn't the call recorder, in android 10 and up no outside apps have access to the microphone during calls except the dialler. Check the dialler for the call recorder there.

    I'm using the dialer only to record the calls but as mentioned in the original post, the recording turns out to be blank.

    The dialer version is 4.5.0

    I didn't download it separately. It's been there from default.

    You seem to be from India. Is your call recording feature working through dialer?

    I see. Can you share the apk files of your dialer and recorder please? Maybe through Google drive or dropbox?

    The installed dialer version on my phone is 4.5.0.

    The most recent versions on apkmirror available are 4.0. and 5.0.

    5.0 is not compatible with my phone as I'm on Android 10

    4.0.0 version is not getting installed. Maybe because I already have 4.5.0 installed.

    That was the last updated version along with the last OTA update for the 5 / 5T.

    What SIM are you using ?

    No. I don't have access to it. I think this trouble is a device related issue.

    My father has Nokia 8.1, Vodafone SIM, Android 10. Call recording works fine on it.
