    Hi Everyone!

I just updated my OnePlus 9 with the January security patch. When I installed the update, I realized that my phone heats up and the battery drains quickly. And it happens more so when the device is idle and lying unused.

Do anyone of you face the same issue? Is there a fix for it?

    Thank you!

Just after an update, they system will optimize itself which can cause heating and battery drainage. You'll notice this, especially when a device is idle because you expect it to do nothing. However, there are still processes going on in the back ground like installing and optimizing. This could sometimes take a couple of days and a few charges before all settles down.

You could wait a few days, use your phone as you normally would and don't change settings to try to optimias these will again cause extra drainage in the beginning.

Should the issue still remain., I'd post again if I were you.

Edit: @Dresa91, saw you Ninja'd me....

Sorry for sounding dumb but I don't know, I checked the settings and it says I'm on Android 11. To further optimize my phone I did try to lower the refresh rate from 120 to 60.

You asked if he's talking about OOS 12, you didn't mention T mobile. I don't think T mobile has released OOS 12 yet

Okay, thank you so much! I'll wait it out then. And should I revert the changes that I had applied for optimization?

Yeah, you can revert the changes.
Wait a few days and check then again.
If you have still issues, you can optimize again
