Camera Issues with Oneplus 6T camera

    KrSuraj , Nov 4, 2018 :
I took the picture of the Oneplus logo at a store, with its red background. In the photo, background was a bit orange, and looked a lot different from the how it actually was. This was not the case with another pic that I took with Samsung S9 plus. I was thinking about buying the OP6t, but I have put my decision on hold for now.

I tried posting the image here, but images captured on both devices look a bit orange on Oneplus 6T and close to real on PC or S9 plus. Is it an issue others have faced? Is Oneplus team doing anything to resolve it?

People here may try comparing the red on Oneplus 6T and one other devices.

So you took one picture and based on your subjective view of the picture immediately assume the phone has an issue. Seriously?

@gha2012 I've updated my question, pictures captured on oneplus 6t looked red on my PC, but kind of orange on 6T. Is it a display issue? You can try viewing the attached image on OP device and another device.

It's difficult for an individual to get a sample of sufficient number of devices to conduct a test of significance for statistical difference unless Oneplus team shows some generosity. Don't you think? I am an end user of the product and my opinions are bound to be built on my experience and observations. Anyway, I updated my question. You can try viewing the attached image on OP6T and another device. Please do share what you experience.

Looks like a display problem... But my Op6t shows reds fine. The picture that you posted looks quite red on my Op6t. Maybe that particular device's display might be faulty

It could be, can you try viewing the same on another device (your PC or another phone)? I was kind of fine with how it looked oneplus 6t until I saw it on S9 plus.

Yes, you are right. The red seems to be more bright in the Op6t and the difference is significant.

Oneplus needs some work on color correction. It would be great if others on the community could post their observations or escalate this post.

What about the screen calibration? Do you know if perhaps the 6T device you shot the picture was using a different screen calibration from default or even custom color?

I did not try calibration, but I think it was default setup.

try adjusting settings. The colour reproduction may be different due to software processing. I would suggest taking photo in raw mode and then adjusting it if you need 100 percent accuracy. Although, I have tested the camera for colour accuracy and it gave good results. But in rare cases it doesn't

Oh ok, because I was thinking if it was a test device from a store someone could have easily messed with the settings to change the screen calibration,

The fact that you mentioned that both image appears normal from the PC could single out display/screen calibration as an issue and not the camera.

The picture seems fine to me color wise - looks like that's not an issue with the camera but potentially with how your screen is calibrated.

Yeah, that could be the case. Anyone could have messed with the calibration. Can you try viewing the attached image on your oneplus and another device and share your results? That will help.

I am currently viewing from a OnePlus 2, I can view from my brother's OP5T tomorrow but as of right now it looks red to me. I don't have the OnePlus 6T to test it out.
