    Hi everyone!

As the year started, we hosted the Global Tutorial Competition – Pt. 2, a contest where the most knowledgeable users from each EU country fought for the chance to have a Community Event in their backyard. The Italian users came through (specifically @alessiodales, @Davide_Gurtner and @eliamarisio) and, as a result, Milano was the stage for a OnePlus fans get-together on June 8.

Joining the event was also @Szymon K., Oxygen OS’ product manager, to talk a bit with the Italian fans. And, since I’m sure many of you want to know all about it, I invited Szymon to share a bit more about his experience in Italy.

    • Hi Szymon! I hope you had an amazing time in Italy! Care to tell us what your presentation was all about?
    • Answer: Hey! Yes, indeed it was a great time. Before the meeting, our Italian colleagues collected some of the points that our Community was interested to hear me talk about. So, the presentation was about OxygenOS strategy, about the way we pick and develop features. We’ve also spoken a bit about design, how some of our hardware works and about direction for the future.
    • So, it was all talk and no fun?
    • Answer: Not at all! After my presentation, we all got the chance to enjoy some snacks, drinks (a fair amount of prosecco was poured) and music. It also gave us all the chance to chat in a more informal way, which, for me, is one of the best things about these Community events.
    • What are your thoughts about the Italian Community?
    • Answer: I think Italian community is really knowledgeable when it comes to the tech industry, they’ve been asking some tough questions! Also, they emphasize on design aspect of the phone more than anything else, true esthetes. Community is also very diversified when it comes to their professions – doing all sorts of interesting stuff.
    • Any tricky questions from the audience?
    • Answer: Only tricky ones . Our community asked a lot about phone sizes, security or our direction.
    • Italy is known for its great food! Any foodporn to share with us?
    • Answer: https://photos.app.goo.gl/HHSai55HavcSsDzp7 A lot! Fell in love with not just Italian food, but also Italian eating culture. And the Aperol Spritz, must try.
Wow Szymon, seems like I missed out on an amazing event! For those of you that were luckier than me, feel free to share your own experiences, photos and stories in the comments below!

The guesture navigation while viewing horizontaly oriented content, like full screen YouTube videos etc, are not intuitive and animations are not very refined, specially when swiping up to go to home screen.I hope oneplus level of attention to detail is implemented to navigation guestures through a future update

Separate volume option for ringtone and notification?

There is no separate volume control for Notifications and Ringtone volume. Mostly people set higher volume to ringtone than notification. But when a notification pops, its volume is also very high.

    For example:
We get numerous notifications each day and I don’t want my phone to go beep-beep at full volume all day.

Of course, I can decrease the volume but that’s where the problem lies. If I decrease the volume, my ringtone volume also decreases and that’s not what I want!!!

Definitely love community events, grateful I had the possibility to take part to it, and also to the previous ones :)

I'd like to thank the OnePlus Italy team for organizing it in such a good way. Everything was perfect, the food, the location and obviously the people! Glad to be part of such enjoyable community.
Szymon is a humble guy, he chatted with us and answered all of our questions (when possible obv) related to technicalities and to work . Also got some interesting insights and fun fact about the evolution of the design that I didn't know. Cool!

Can't wait for the next event [e]270c[/e]

Oh my, I'm always a sucker for foodpr0n, great choices @Szymon K.! Def one of my favourite pizzas, though is that pistachios on the first pasta pic?

Uhm I mean, sounds like a very well organised, informative and fruitful event, yes, no food to see here, move along. In all seriousness though, sounds like a great event! ^^ Wish I could've joined. Not just for the food. ;-p
