Any news on credit monitoring?? Still waiting 3 months on...
I had about £4,000 stolen from my card and I'm going though all the ball ache of trying to get it back.
So, I sold all my OP devices on eb** now. Sometimes you have to get rid of things you don't trust in any longer.
Still no update for monitoring, still no compensation, mail or answer from support. I'll warn everybody about this company in the future. As technical supporter and purchaser, OP will never be back on any list I've to approve...
See you all guys and good luck
Over & out
My credit card info have been tested in India. It has not been used for any purchase this means either it is being sold now or they are making fake new cards to use locally.
So I was not a "potentially" affected user but still my info have been stolen.
That's a bummer @eye842. Did you use your CC during the Nov-Jan period? I used paypal when I bought my OP2 back in '15 (and haven't bought anything on oneplus.net since then) but still wary about what might show up from this shitshow.
Yeah I did use my CC 1. Dec. & 14. Dec. 2017 + PP 11.Jan. 2018. So I'm not surprised.
I really wanted a OP phone but I can't trust this company now. Security clearly isn't taken seriously enough.
1. How did the malicious code get into the payment page?
2. How the hell didn't they notice!! Surely the software is scanned for changes at least daily. Any new or changed files on the server should have been picked up faster.
I suspect it was an inside job. When the hacker is authorized to have access there's not a lot you can do to prevent it.
On the contrary, I do think OP takes security seriously from a systems perspective. The problem is they don't take the welfare of their customers seriously. They've addressed the system (I hope) now they feel that's all they need to do.
Still waiting for credit monitoring...
have you considered raising a support call chasing it?
My credit score has started going down over the last few months, its gone down from an Experian 'excellent' rating to 'good'. I suspect its because the fraudsters are trying to apply for credit in my name and causing lots of credit inquiries.
I have asked yesterday and they said they cannot provide a date yet.
If you were one of the 145+million effected by the Experian "hack", you have available free credit monitoring and the capability to "Freeze" or "Unfreeze" your Experian credit history, at any time for FREE, thus preventing anyone from obtaining your credit history.
(I too was a confirmed Experian "hack" victim.)
That was Equifax not Experian.
I am using a free experian account to check my credit score. Although it does not show your credit report on the free package
Sorry. You are correct. I should have stated my experience was about Equifax not Experian.
Check with your bank. Many offer free credit-score info, at no-charge.
Yes, numerous times. No one can give me further information.
I shouldn't have to either...
I submitted complaint to my bank and wanted to use chargeback. The bank considered the complaint as unfounded... Did someone get stolen money back?
Has anyone gotten their credit monitoring yet?
Not a single word.
So oneplus lied to its owners and the press.
