Does anyone know when the JBL audio software/upgraded ROM source will be available or if Oneplus will do a 64gb version ?

They have stated that the JBL special edition 16gb version will have special audio software:

"To celebrate the new friendship, OnePlus is also making available a special Sandstone Black edition of the 16 GB OnePlus One. Aside from shipping with the JBL E1+ earphones in the box, this edition has JBL's spirit both inside and out. Outside, owners will be able to flaunt JBL's logo clearly emblazoned on the back of the device. Inside, JBL has modified the audio and stereo output to match their standards in quality. There is even a special equalizer app for tweaking the earphone's settings as well."

But the stereo output is a mystery, are they modifying the way the two lower speakers are wired/configured ?

IMHO OnePlus finally got the JBL audio and earphones in the One as they initially planned. I hope it's just a software improvement over the hardware, otherwise It is hard to justify buying the JBL earphones for the current 64GB users.

Just seen the JBL Oneplus video on Youtube, which means they are out in the wild, so who's going to get a system dump for the devs to dissect and get us all some JBL audio treats.

To be honest not sure if they put a software i think they make a firmware integration of a JBL sound drive por modify the Audio FX app

IMHO I truly recommend installing ViPER4Android. I just looked into it a few hours ago and installed it(I think rooting helps?). But my audio quality is better than any phone I've ever had, including the audio-centric Apple iPhone 5.

Just something I recommend looking into.

EDIT: DO NOT install the Play Store version. It isnt updated or an official release.
