    Hello hello hello!

As much as I love New York, there's a ton of great cities across the US. It’s time to give some love to our other community hubs. For our next Shot On OnePlus Academy Photowalk, we’ll be touring around Chicago! Now, I’m no expert in Chicago, but @Brady R. and I teamed up with professional photographer Gareth Pon to show us around and teach us how to take incredible portraits and nighttime shots from some of the best views in the city. I can’t think of a better way to spend a Saturday!

This is also great opportunity to get your hands on the new OnePlus 7 Pro and test out the new camera modes. Did I mention that the person who takes the best pic will win a OnePlus 7 Pro?!

    Here’s the skinny:

    · When: June 15th, 4:30PM – 8:30PM

    · Where: Chicago, Illinois

    · Who: Mobile photography beginners, enthusiasts & professionals are all welcome

You can apply for a spot on this photowalk here. We’re opening this walk up to the public as well as our community so space will be limited. Apply early!

What are some of your favorite photo spots in Chicago? Hit me up with your best recommendations!

Note from Ruby: Participants for this photowalk have been selected and contacted! Stay tuned for the recap from David next week :)

Does OnePlus have a warehouse in US? Are items from US online store shipped locally within US or from overseas? Thanks!

I take plenty of walks at lunch time. River walk, Navy Pier, Lake Front, Grant Park, Millennium Park, Michigan Ave. So many different area's spread throughout the city!

Perhaps the glass cubes at Willis Tower? :D

There's an absolutely magnificent German steakhouse I could heartily recommend, except I haven't been there for 30 years, I forget what it was called and it probably doesn't exist any more.

There's probably some other cool stuff around there.

The Berghoff? I think they did close the main steakhouse but left the cafe part open. They have Octoberfest every year at the plaza by the post office

It is one of the more popular places and it was a surprise when they announced the closing

Americans sure love German beer but most seem to be kinda iffy on the food in my experience.

Yes they do. My stuff usually ships from NJ but I think they have one on the west coast too.

I was only in Chicago for a few days, couldn't even tell you where we stayed - it would have been somewhere cheap.

Our MO at the time was:-
    • Drive to a town / city
    • Find somewhere cheap to stay
    • Walk around town reading menus
    • Eat at the cheapest nice-looking place, or the nicest cheap-ish place
    • Go out, get shitfaced, try to take advantage of our 'exotic' accents
Did that for a few years running, I've probably covered more territory than most of the natives. But damn that was a great steak, I'm not sure I've had better since.

What kind of monster doesn't like German food? (apart from vegans, obviously - I think we can give them a pass on that one).

Beats me, maybe it's the heavy use of vinegar? The fact that it can be a real chore to find a decent German restaurant around here probably doesn't help either.

Speaking of vegans I do remember shattering a friend of mines world view when I told her what the wiener schnitzel she just finished enjoying was made from. She wasn't one before but I think she might be now after that revelation.
