New to the OP7P and still learning how to use it.

New to the community also but hopefully I'll be an active user of it.

    Welp.

Welcome here to the messy but at the same time funny forum, hope you enjoy your 90hz, because I can't as I don't have it lol

    thanks @xnutzii

so far so good but still getting used to OP7 Pro. This thing makes me feel like a million dollars with the 90hz screen and the built quality.

it's been a long time since I've had a phone with this much class. Note 9 was good phone but Samsung really have gone no where recently and their philosophy in pricing etc is not to my liking anymore. So hopefully OP will stay true to their roots. I hope that they continue to make premium budget devices like the OP7 as is now.

We need those high quality software phones for other people. My mother can't afford the 7 Pro and 90hz is no good to her but normal OP7 is justified because that will work until the parts fail on it unlike my Note 9 which Samsuck have killed with updates and taken features away from me.

Glad you're enjoying it, as of now!

Samsung really killed their older devices IMHO, I used to have a Samsung Galaxy S8 for 4 weeks, because my 6T was sent in for repair.

That phone was running alright without the updates I did, but after the updates it got slowed down like sh¡t.

OneUI fixed some of that, but definitely not enough. And compared to a 2017 flagship, the OnePlus 5T, the S8 was lagging behind in quite everything there was, quite literally lagging behind. Everything besides display was worse, even the speaker and battery life.

Hope OnePlus gets something innovative ideas done. Because what they're doing right now ain't perfect at all.

yeah same here for my note 9. updates slowed it down and they took away features they had on Oreo and removed it for Pie. then they upgraded bootloader to stop you from downgrading.

I hate One UI. GraceUX was better imo. Samsuck is just big fancy display and nothing else.

TBF aside from the price and no headphone jack, there's little wrong with OP7 Pro. maybe make it smaller and no exclusive 5G carrier like EE in UK. Bigger battery always welcome.

the standby draw alone on this 7 Pro is stunning and that's with ambient display on with 90hz. I have gotten used to the crappy exynos from Samsung sapping battery.

That sucks. Samsung really needs to change this imo.

Can't say the same about my 6T as of now, it needs a reset.

I miss it still on my 6T, too :(

I didn't hate it, it was alright. Not great, but definitely better than SamsungEX, besides the unlocking animation I surely missed with the S8.

No 5G where I live, probably not even in 5 years, so I don't mind.

I'd like a big phone like the 7 Pro, I kind of feel that my 6.41" 6T is small lol, which isn't true at all, but my hands are gigantic. I can use my 6T with one hand quite easily (besides typing, more or less)

it does indeed suck but I look on the bright side. it brought me to OP and convinced me to never ever go back to Samsung ever again.

I intend to update until android Q and then I'll stop on the OP7 Pro. I just have been stung too many times with updates breaking and reducing performance to put up with it ever again.

same here. no 5G where I live but would be nice to know we can buy the unlocked handset outright and get a sim only handset.

I looked at the standard OP7 today. Looks tiny to my Pro.

I can assure you, OnePlus phones NEVER slow down after updates.

My "old" 5T is faster than my 6T in most cases. (Probably because my 6T is full of sh¡t.)

And it's on a beta system, beta 33, and it's been 34 updates this phone had since the beggining.

Ah. that might explain the issues. it's on a beta. I suspect also what will help is that SD 855 will be course to flagships out in the next few years. 7nm will be hard to beat.

That's what people thought about 14mm a few years ago, too. You can always beat yourself if you manage to do so.

I meant the 5T is on a beta, and it's faster than my 6T on a beta, even with a custom kernel!! This really shows that my 6T needs a refresh for real.

the thing I would add to that is that, that was on 14nm. there's not much more to go from 7nm. 5 isn't even technically possible yet. so I do believe we'll see a refined 855 maybe but it's early days yet. I don't care how many benchmarks exynos wins, this SD 855 is hench in its power and sipping on standby.

    True that.

7nm really is the peak at the moment. But only future will tell.
