Laggy Performance on OS 5.05

I notice some of my apps especial Gmail, chrome and Google slowing, being laggy or freezing on OS 5.05. Oneplus 3 has more than adequate hardware to handle basic functions like this. What's going on? Is there a fix?

Clear caches of the apps, clear cache in recovery, restart.
if this doesn't help: reinstall these Google apps.
It indicates that Google has some "bugs" -> deinstall updates for those apps.

    Yes there is a fix.
First post at the correct topics. There is one pinned for 5.0'5
Secondly, take a backup and have a factory reset afterwards.

Your phone will be like brand new.

What's not working? Your ability to find the release thread and read it, or the factory reset?

I meant to say that even after a complete factory reset, the phone is still not performing well.

And the release thread ,where you should be raising your issues?

Do u mean that u had a fresh mobile after factory reset and without installing any apps it was lagging?
I really doubt if u have truly performed a factory reset.

    Guys stop factory resetting

After you factory reset you force android to redo all optimisation from scratch. In the worst case this can take upto a week to complete and until that happens you will face severe lag and battery drain

The same thing happens when you system update

    How to fix?
For the next 7 days, charge your phone overnight while it's turned on. This will allow ART to finish it's optimisation. The optimisation starts only when the device is connected, fully charged and idle.

Or if you want to force the optimisation
Root your phone and in a terminal emulator app type

    su -c "cmd package bg-dexopt-job"

Remember, the quotes here are part of the command
