The OP2 isn't even the best phone out there right now several other either meet or exceed its stats in the key places. Unlike the OP1 which had the best CPU, 3gigs of ram and 64GB of rom (closed but still top in it's class)

In order to be called the 2016 flagship, OPT should have left all the other phone behind, far far behind...but it's not the case.

If I buy OP2 instead of a flagship* then IMHO It just killed the flagship.
David killed Goliath in a fight - not a spec war.

It's not false advertising to say something that you can't realy measure. It can be misleading to claim it but you can't say it's not true or if it is so it's not breaking any laws.

I think the OPO was a flagship killer the OP2 not so much. It's specs are underwhelming and the competition has ramped up quiet a bit now.

It's just a bit of tongue in cheek marketeers trumpet blowing and has no meaning due to the extremity of its vagueness. It's just like saying "our phone is the best" - probably every top of the range phone out there has some feature or characteristic it's maker can wave around as making it "best" and a no -brain- needed purchase lol.

Agreed. I think the flagship killer idea is subjective anyway.

Well if you kill something that's not even alive in the first place but more of an idea or a thought it's clearly not something you can argue about.

This is not relevant to any "law" or "patent", so there's no "legal" problem. Just words put together to make a slogan/motto/...

Neither "Flagship" nor "Flagship Killer" are protected or strictly defined words but rather just abstract term. It doesnt mention any other companies name/product sooo no the phrase flagship killer is no problem.

I think with Carl himself saying in interviews that people upgrade every year and op2 doesnt have nfc because mobile payments wont be widespread for a year (i guess disregard that about 3 million iphone users have used it), you can't say it is a 2016 flagship killer. If it was it would be ready to use in mobile payments 12 months from now.

Flagship killer suits for OPT as it does just have created a major hype among the population, giving amazing specs in affordable price!! I suppose the FLAGSHIPS would have there jaws drop!!!!! :p

This is my point! In Sweden I think it would even be illegal to use the term "Flagship killer" when it's not even close to it. Although the "Flagship killer" term isn't protected by law, it is still pretty much a big statement, which perhaps could be misleading by law. Not sure though, but from an ethical point of view, it's wrong
