Lets Confirm Who Has the Ghost Touch Issue

I removed the plastic screen protector and after that no issues anymore with ghost touches. Seems to be a problem with the pre applied protector.

RMA it before your time runs out. They are sending out bad phones I know I got one stuck in a bootloop out of the box until the battery drops below 50% then it works for a while with occasional locks and reboots but once charged back up it's a constant lock and reboot.

I have the same problem @ my OnePlus 7 Pro. Noticed it in Facebook app.

Still got the screen protector on.

    Very very annoying.

I found OP's post on Reddit as I'm also experiencing the same issue. I've experience the issue not only in CPU-Z but in Flamingo for Twitter, Instagram, and one time just sitting on the default home screen. I've attempted switching between 60Hz and 90Hz refresh rate and noticed less phantom touches with 60Hz but are still present.

Me to. I get ghost touches from time 0 basically in CPU Z.

I first experienced it in Facebook and Hangout. Very annoying.

I've experienced ghost touches since day one (I got the phone 2 days ago) and it does not appear to be app related for me. It has happened on the home screen and inside of several apps. In fact just while I was typing this it happened. It often seems isolated to the upper left region of the display. I've contacted support who guided me through the basic troubleshooting steps and then directed me to file a replacement request. Still awaiting approval for that, I filed it yesterday.

Lucky you, mine only told me that they notified a team regarding the issue. I'll wait a day or so to see if anything comes of it before I request a replacement. I want to believe this is software related as I don't wanna deal with the RMA process.

Yeah I'd rather it be software too. Just curious, did anyone notice it before the first Oxygen OS update? Mine had an update available right out of the box so I almost immediately downloaded it. I'm betting most did the same.

Yeah, OTA update right out of the box as well for me. I thought about that earlier today. I don't believe there is a way to roll back, right?

I would doubt there is, unless it was rooted and someone had the previous build etc.

Live chat did the same thing for me, as they did for you. This post in the forum got a "bug hunter" from Oneplus to PM me and ask for logs.

kinda makes me wonder if they will actually approve my service request for replacement. I have to believe that since it's not happening on everyone's phones that it is succeptible to some hardware issue, but if a software patch could fix it that would be awesome. I have another 24 hours in their reply window on my service request.

Weird, I cannot repro this, with either 60 or 90Hz rates.

There are some "odd things" afoot, with the new display, but my bet is that it's all s/w related.
For example, double-tap-to-wake was really "intermittent", the first few hours after setting up my phone. Then, something "tripped", because it "just started working", 100% of the time now, I can't recall a failure, since.

I can even do this, with a glass screen protector, AND inside a thick 6-mil bag (my standard "protection" for my jersey pocket while road-riding), which is impressive (fingerprint through both is "iffy", but does work, maybe 30% of the time).

Sure seems like s/w, digitizers don't generally fix themselves (I've written some digitizer tests, back in the day...), IME.

No phantom touches noticed on my end. I downloaded & installed CPU-Z just for this test as well. I updated my 7 Pro as soon as the latest update was available, if that makes a difference to you. Not sure why you'd be getting these phantom touches, but I hope it gets resolved soon!

The display will behave as if your finger touched it, even if your finger didn't really touch it.

I don't have a ghost touch issue, but there's a bright dot about a quarter inch in size, that pulses on my screen in CPU-Z over the gray area. Gonna get T-Mobile to swap it.

For what it's worth, I just installed CPU-Z on my phone and it makes the ghost touch issue much worse when it is running. I would maybe get a few touches every half hour or so without it, but while running CPU-Z it was constantly having ghost touches (the notification bar was pulling down) every few seconds.
