    Yep. Can confirm I'm experiencing this problem too. Happens intermittently, not app specific. Have seen it in WhatsApp, Twitter, and Reddit so far. Do we know if this is a hardware or software issue yet?

    They're actively looking for logs for this, so head on over there, respond to them, and they'll tell you how they want the repro to go, and which logs to submit (I just hosted mine on GDrive, for other issues - I've submitted several sets for them, all were fixed, eventually).

    I'd do it in a heartbeat, if I could repro it, I've tried quite a few times now, no luck. I still suspect this is a s/w issue, or you'd see it in a LOT more than just a small handful of apps (this is coming from a s/w engineering perspective). It's not "impossible" that it's a h/w issue, but I'd be really surprised...

    I have this issue also... when i open cpu z i experience severe ghost activity... app crashes.
    But this occurs not only on cpu z, but in cpu z it is instant.
    Also yesterday after finishing phone call, screen went to random colors bars, like broken, then phone froze, started blinking screen, somehow by pressing and holding power button managed to restart the device.
    If strange activity will continue I will return the device.

    Hmm, I'm almost positive it's a s/w issue now.
    Open up CPU-Z, and try to "repro" those *EXACT* touches, in terms of location, using your finger/stylus/whatever.
    That area of the CPU-Z app is invalidated for input, I can't get a single "touch" to appear, like in all the videos posted, so far.
    I think something is drawing over those app(s), using an overlay (which is supposed to be pretty highly restricted since 8.x).
    There's a dev-option, to disable h/w overlays, worth trying, at least for those that can repro this...

    I never noticed it, then I saw this thread and found I get them in CPU Z too! I'll see if I notice it anywhere else.

    I thought I was having this issue as well but then I turned on show touches in the developer options and no phantom touches are registered.

    One of the OnePlus bug hunters also reached out to me for log files early this morning. This plus the increasing frequency of the issue being reported makes me hopeful it's a software issue also. Just reading online, some phones still don't encounter the problem. But I'm sure there are a lot of variables involved. With all of this attention now, hopefully they're narrowing down on the cause!

    I thought I was going crazy but I just read that this is an actual issue. I don't have the specified app mentioned above... however the only app I have had this issue so far as been Snapchat. The app freezes for like 3 seconds then the top left corner button activates (ghost touches) . Is it a "wait and see what happens" kind of deal?

    Seems like it varies a lot. for me it happened in multiple apps and on the home screen on the first day. I've seen others say on here and other places that it's only on the CPU-Z app. And some have not seen it at all.

    I am having the same issue as well. It is mostly limited the top portion of the screen. I hope there will be a software fix for this.

    Also the ambient display has stopped working in low light environment along with all screen off gestures.

    Also having this issue, happens in both 60 and 90hz.
    Happens alot in CPU-Z, whatsapp, snapchat, instagram, google chrome!

    Hope OnePlus tells us what the best course of action is for this.
