Lets Confirm Who Has the Ghost Touch Issue

I first saw this problem yesterday and, as others have noted, installing CPU-Z really shows it. However, I've just done a factory reset (I'm on 9.5.4.GM21BA), immediately installed CPU-Z and I'm not seeing any Ghost touches yet. Could a factory reset be all that's required?

edit: OK scrub that. The Ghost touches just started again like crazy!

so would that be s hardware issue?

They might tried to 'fix' the green dot flickering under specific circumstances by turning that specific sensor off or something like that. That again seems to have ghost the ghost touches.

so that sensor could still be a hardware or sensor issue.

If they said hardware, would you have kept your order? Personally I cancelled my order until there is a official response.

Okay had a bit more of a look. There are a few lines in the kernel log that is repeated for the entire duration of the ghost touches, and only a couple of times outside of them. I'm struggling to see how it's a coincidence.

    Code:
    05-28 11:36:34.503 0 0 E [20190528_11:36:34.498334]@3 vmscan: putback:0

    and

    Code:
    05-28 11:36:09.937 0 0 W [20190528_11:36:09.936333]@6 audit: audit_lost=447 audit_rate_limit=5 audit_backlog_limit=64
    05-28 11:36:09.937 0 0 E [20190528_11:36:09.936338]@6 audit: rate limit exceeded

VMScan is something to do with virtual memory, audit limit exceeded seems to be saying that there are so many log messages that the logger cant cope (happy to be corrected on this). Whether this is a cause or effect of the ghost touches is unclear, but a buggy driver causing memory issues is a potential cause.

as on 9.5.1 this issue is not presented, and after upgrade it is, this is some software problem.. dont care about flickering proximitiy sensor in CPU-Z app.. this app is meant to trigger these sensors.. I dont think OP wanted to fix flickering proximity sensor in CPU-Z

I don't think the flickering proximity sensor was only apparent in CPU-Z. Possibly in other, although maybe rare, situations as well.

I wonder why then turning NFC off has resolved the issue.. it seems like software because of this, but if not what else?

Got my Oneplus 7 Pro Nebula Blue 8GB/256GB today. Production Date is 09.05.2018

I'm on 9.5.1.GM21BA and i don't have any ghost touches in CPU-Z with NFC activated. I also have the blinking light behind the display in CPU-Z. Tested multiple times for 5 minutes and longer.

I dont want to test with the Update to 9.5.4 or 9.5.5 because the File from 9.5.1 is not published anywhere for downloading, so i cannot rollback if ghost touches appear in the newer versions.

So long, i think its an software issue. But until its confirmed and patched or 9.5.1 is ready for download for rollback anywhere i will stay on 9.5.1.

Thst isn't resolving the issue, it is turning off NFC.
If you are in a zone where you can return it under 15 day distance sales I would recommend you do so.
Get a refund and buy again giving yourself another 15 day, a direct replacement will not give you that.

Well, the answer is fine, if they just added that a software update to resolve the problem was on the way, as well! It sucks that they seem to ignore the problem!
