9.5.7 seems to solve the Phantom touch issues. tested in every scenario, with NFC on/off, different display settings, couldn't reproduce it.

    May this thread R.I.P

Similar story here, I'm unable to reproduce them in the latest update. I think we still need to give it a few days to know for sure through. The touches were likely caused by kernel memory management issues, and it might take us having our phones running for a few hours for those kinds of issues to start appearing.

Quick questions. I used Oxygen updater to get 9.5.7 and it is the first time I used this app. When I get an update OTA and you check for updates it shows the last updates change log so you can see what was updated. Why is this not showing after updating with oxygen updater? Also if I want to receive the next update over OTA instead of Oxygen updater will it be possible?

First time using it too so just speculating. I suspect that the changelog will appear in the system settings in a few days time. They roll out the updates incrementally, and once your geographical region is allowed access to the update through system settings the changelog will probably appear then.

You can get the next update in the usual way, yes.

I've turned NFC back on and have show taps enabled. I'll leave it like that for the next day or so and post if i see anything!

Awesome. Looks like the oxygen updater app is going to download it for me, so I should be able to test it out also

Just installed 9.5.7. I have NFC on and I just opened up CPU-Z. Before the update if I did that on mine, I'd get a bunch of ghost touches, like several every few seconds, constantly until I killed the app. This time - nada! That's a good sign for sure. Obviously I'll post back here like everyone else if I see anything weird, but fingers crossed that it's fixed! Glad I didn't return or try to replace it

Can someone comment regarding the touch responsiveness following the update? Have anyone noticed anything different apart from the ghost touch issue being resolved?

Go to oxgen OS OS updater from play store if you are not getting it. Works perfect lots of fixes and hopefully this will shut that troll up that returned the phone lol

The ghost touch issue with NFC has been resolved with an update. Even if you place the NFC tag under the phone, the touch does not appear even if you open the app. It does not appear even if CPU-Z is opened.

Kernel sources for 9.5.7 have been released. Can confirm that some changes to the touchscreen driver are present in 9.5.7. The code adds support for an "ndx detect" mode which appears to be a mode that the touchscreen controller already supports. Not sure what that mode does though, since the datasheets for the touchscreen controller don't seem to be published anywhere

yeah it's been very consistent for me and notifies me when updates are available. So I'll stick with it. I remember the days of sideloading new otas. What a pain when you just want it right away and are not near a computer

This is my first time on a OnePlus phone so it's nice that they even have this option. I'm used to Samsung which meant we had to wait for months anyway :)

The fact that OnePlus responded to user feedback and turned this around so quickly is commendable. 9.5.7 appears to have fixed the phantom touches. Now let's hope we don't see this problem again!
