Hi, my oneplus 7 pro still have 'phantom/ghost' touch even on 9.5.8 update. And it says that replacement and return period is over on oneplus.net site. I issued RMA repairs request will see if they will accept.

Yes, I am still getting them with this most recent update too but it happens a lot less frequently. What app seems to be the trigger for mine but unfortunately, that’s probably my most used app.

Let’s hope the next update completely eliminates them or I am going to have to sell it to someone that can live with the ghost touches and needs to reboot to clear them. Since my return period is long over.

And what now? Have you tried to write for service and ask for a refund?

Bro, have you tried to write for service and ask for a refund? This is not normal and this can be a hardware problem. Try ask for refund because you still have this problem.

Yes, not refund they accepted it for repair. It's now on its way to a repair center in Poland.

Good luck mate. My OP7P had tons of ghost touches, not only in CPU-Z. I sent mine to Polish repair center for a replacement on June 5. It arrived the next day. They inspected it on June 7 and decided to send me a replacement. It's been 19 days since then and it still hasn't arrived.
Everytime I try to contact OnePlus support they give me typical copy/paste answer - your replacement order has been dispatched and I should check the tracking number.
So I asked DHL about it and they said that OnePlus still hasn't handed over the parcel.
I decided to open the PayPal dispute. Hopefully they'll be able to help me. OnePlus has time to answer the dispute till July 2.
    What an awful experience.

Hmm.. Seems like once I plug it in to charge for the night it also triggers it.

    I hope I won't end up like that :/
Now I regret not getting it from Amazon as they would just send me a replacement no problem.

On the other hand my mate got his oneplus 7 pro and he had no phantom touch problems even before the update that fixes it, Cpu-z didn't do anything to trigger PT on his phone. I don't believe that they will fix it by software on affected models, they can mask it but not fix it.

Dear colleagues, do you think this problem is related to defective batches? Some units present the problem and others do not.

    H1560000678575, Jun 28, 2019 :
It looks like there are different production batches. No one knows if OnePlus did not use parts from different manufacturers and some may be defective, which is why there is a slight discrepancy in models with Ghost Touch.

Could you write production date? Is it 5 or 6 May?
And I believe that your model will be repaired fast or maybe you will receive a new one without defects.

Guys, you wrote earlier that you have Ghost Touch problem on the 9.5.7 update that was supposed to fix this problem. It's been a long time since you wrote your post. Has anything changed to this day? Could the latest 9.5.8 update fix the Ghost Touch problem and worse response to touch?
If the problem persists, have you tried to do a factory reset and clean cache partition to be more sure that the update definitely doesn't fix it?
Write what the current state looks like. Perhaps you gave your faulty model to the OnePlus service, and today you don't have any problems with Ghost Touch?
    Greetings.

Hello, I'm pretty sure I didn't write that because they did disappear in my case:)

Although there's still quite an annoying issue with the display, which many users saw (https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/display-bug-or-problem-horizontal-lines.1048559/), but OnePlus is not doing anything about it. Maybe this is a goof occasion for some more users to check out if their phone is also showing this?

Yea. You wrote about worse sensivity after update (post number 1760) :) So now sensivity on 9.5.8 is better than on 9.5.7?
Btw. horizontal lines are interesting problem too :/

  17. iacoplus Froyo Jun 28, 2019

    iacoplus, Jun 28, 2019 :
Yes sensitivity, not ghost touches indeed. And yes it did get better with the 9.5.8. I was mostly noticing it when scrolling on Chrome/Facebook, while after the last update it feels absolutely normal and smooth

Dude, could you tell me which specific batch?
If it is a hardware defect Oneplus should collect these batches before more people go through this problem.
Because the last update did not solve the problem.
Could you also tell me if these batches present other serious problems, which is hardware?

    Thank you very much

    Bro, I don't know.
I am guessing that this is the fault of the first models, but I'm not sure. And yes, if it is a hardware problem, the company should collect it, but it is a huge cost, so OnePlus tries to limit it as much as possible.

You see bud that is why you should never listen to.fix with updates, get your refund and repurchase or not.
The fanboys were saying it was software, you now know it was not.
