The phone is going to be sold internationally. AT&T and T-Mobile may be the only carriers in your "world" but this rock is much bigger than that.

any GSM carrier will be compatible, only networks you can't use it on are Verizon and Sprint because they are CDMA.

If I remember from an AMA they don't have any plans on making it CDMA compatible (no Verizon and Sprint) but who knows for later versions. Not this one. I'll be switching carriers if I get this.

Cdma carriers like Verizon and sprint will not work with the oneplus. Different wireless technologies. I for one would never use their services for this reason. But I understand some are forced into it based on coverage.

It only supports gsm networks ,which most of the world supports..it is not on CDMA network cause would have added a unneed extra cost and plus they have to pay a fee to have cdma

Im not so sure about the US but I can say that (as far as I am aware) all UK networks are GSM and so will support the Oneplusone.

    Hey

Been using Aio Wireless for the past year, they are a subsidiary of AT&T
Update: after AT&T bought Cricket they merge the companies into one company called Cricket Wireless.
You get the same coverage as AT&T and LTE all for $50 flat

Hopefully, the price of OnePlus One will help more people switch away from non-GSM carriers, and stop wasting money getting phones locked to specific carrier networks without much chance of unlocking and using them elsewhere.

Almost the same, with one LARGE caveat: HSPA speeds are limited to 4 Mbps and LTE to 8 Mbps.
