Your comparing a 2015 device to a 2017 device running custom rom. Becuase that's what OOS is.
Root the N4 and put a custom Rom on it and then tell us how bad it is.
How do to think the 2015 OP2 ( with a busted SD810) would fair against a 2017 device running 2015 OOS?
It was pretty poor back then never mind now and my 2014 N6 ran circles round it.
My old man has had my old Note 2 for 2 year and the only problem he has is what you would have with any device if you don't do a regular restart.

I won't say Samsung fooled the customers or anything like that...
I've accepted the fact that my unit was faulty... And that's possible with any phone company...
My anger was with the service center...
Also... TouchWiz has improved since last couple of years...

    My favorite OnePlus device?
    OnePlus 5

    Why?
    I don't have the OnePlus 5T

How does it compare to other devices [e]1f440[/e]?
A strong warrior indeed! Seen the movie 300? The one where it's 300 Greek warriors vs the 100k Persians. I'd say this phones something like that.

    Why?
It's one of the best, just the numbers are lacking. The OnePlus 5 is a spectacular phone, it has the top specs blah blah blah... we've heard all this. What's really amazing is it's low price, but it's also slightly a downfall . Let me explain why. All these cool expensive phones have face unlock. So does the OnePlus 5. Does it have an iris scanner (sounds really cool, but slightly unnecessary I believe). Unfortunately not. There are certain limitations that arise due to the price being lower than others. Yes it's increased over the years, but it's still relatively cheap.
At this point let me say, if I was to list all the positives this would be a dissertation, hence I only mention the few lackings I see.
Number 2. Overkill . I like overkill. It's the best. But 8gb. Is that money well spent. The benchmarks and processing ability is good enough without it. Instead I believe these funds should be used for innovation investments.
Other than that, this phone kinda is the talk of the town.
    Just my thoughts

Great topic @Ruby G. ! I'm torn on which OnePlus phone to use in this comparison because I love both the OnePlus One and the OnePlus 5T, but for this comparison I will use the 5T compared to some more recent Android phones I've also used, which are the Samsung Galaxy S9+ and the Pixel 2 XL.

    Display:

2017 was the year of the 18x9 screen and 2018 continues that trend. All 3 phones here basically use the same aspect ratio. Using all 3 for a substantial amount of time I can say the OnePlus 5T wins for me in this category and I'll explain why. The s9+ uses a curved display. While it does get very bright and vivid, the curved edges makes it worse to view content on compared to the flat edges of the 5T. Also the curved sides makes it much more likely to break if you drop it. The Pixel 2 XL has some horrible side effects of older oled panels like really bad blue shift and black crush. Google really made a mistake using LG for their oled panel. It's the worse screen out of the 3.

    Build quality:

Glass back of the Samsung S9+ vs. aluminum on the OnePlus 5T vs a mixture of the two on the Pixel 2 XL. Most would probably pick the glass of the s9+, but for me I prefer the build quality on the OnePlus 5T. OnePlus has really perfected their build quality in the 5T in my opinion. The metal construction makes for a more durable device that is easier to withstand falls without shattering the screen and it also makes the phone stay cooler to the touch when using it. The glass on the Samsung s9+ looks beautiful in reviews, but turns into a fingerprint covered mess when using it for any length of time more than a minute or two.

    Sound quality:

Stereo speakers knocks the OnePlus 5T out of contention for this category even though the bottom firing speaker is very loud and crisp on the 5T. That leaves the s9+ against the Pixel 2 XL and the S9+ wins out thanks to dolby atmos support. Turn on this feature during a movie or video that uses dolby audio and it will really make you appreciate the addition.

    Charging:

Comparing dash charging to fast charging on the Galaxy S9+ and Pixel 2 XL is like comparing a Ford Escort to a Lamborghing Aventador. They simply stand no chance against the magic OnePlus puts inside their charging brick. Dash charging actually changed the way I used my device. I no longer have to charge my phone at night and can simply plus it in for 30 minutes in the morning before work. Now Samsung fans will tell you about wireless charging and how great it is, but I don't use it and don't really see the benefit of having it.

    Battery:

The OnePlus 5T has a 3300mah battery and it's pitted against a Samsung Galaxy S9+ with a 3500mah battery and a Pixel 2 XL with a 3520 mah battery. Surprising OnePlus 5T takes this category again despite having an older processor than the S9+ and smaller battery than both the S9+ and the 2XL. I found myself watching youtube videos for an hour or browsing the web in Chrome and my battery would barely drain on the 5T. Pixel 2 XL comes in second close behind the OnePlus 5T. I have to think the blame for Samsung falling behind in this category despite having newer more efficient tech and a bigger battery is due to Samsung apps draining the battery in the background.

    Software:

Here we have stock android on the Pixel 2 XL vs. Oxygen OS on the 5T vs. Samsung Experience 9.0. Personally I'm more of speed and smoothness over features type of guy so the Samsung Experience software doesn't really do it for me. It performs worse than both the 2 XL and the 5T. Oxygen OS is basically stock android on steroids with some really cool features like a dark theme you can use so it wins as far as day to day usability. Where the Pixel 2 XL wins is day 1 security patches when released by google and you will always have the latest version of Android. I have to give the win in this category to Google just because of the day 1 security updates each month.

And the winner is.......drumroll.......the OnePlus 5T! It does pretty much everything better for my needs and it's the phone I keep in my pocket daily over the others atleast until the OnePlus 6 comes out ;)

OnePlus would like to be a flagship killer.

In my eyes, the flagship number 1 is Apple with its iPhones.

Here you can see a very good interaction between hardware and software.

And this should be the focus of OnePlus.

With OxygenOS I think OnePlus has a strong "alternative" to the Google Android stick.

Compared to Samsung, Sony or other manufacturers, I see great potential here, which OnePlus already uses relatively well. One strength here is the proximity of the community and thus the contribution of the beta testers' experience. This allows OnePlus to stand out from other Android competitors, because OxygenOS is currently the best OS for me.

If OnePlus now distributes the security updates to its devices in a frequency that Google or now Nokia has (as far as I'm concerned, even with 2 to 3 days "delay", you don't have a Google Pixel ;-) ), I think OnePlus is ahead of Google and its pixel devices.

In order to be able to attack Apple correctly in the long term, the interaction between software and hardware must become even better. Here, for example, the camera software is still definitely upgradeable! This means that OnePlus should focus on just one device release date a year, so you can put your energy into better coordination between hardware and software and outperform Apple.

Another unique selling point - or rather the unique selling point of OnePlus is the Dash charging. OnePlus has thus made it possible to use the device for a long time again with a short / fast loading time.

But the competition is not sleeping here either. Therefore, OnePlus must be able to provide support, software, hardware and the community (listen to them, because: OnePlus comes from the community and is for the community) to unite four strands into one big strand, so that everything goes hand in hand.

I have a s8+. It is an excellent device. However the OnePlus 5T has excellent performance . I find that the S8+ slows down to a crawl and sometimes reboots because it simply gets bogged down. I have only had my 5T days so I am just getting used to it.
So far as software goes it is light and smooth . Find it very refreshing. The Samsung software however been streamlined has been improved no end. But I am finding Oxygen OS a real winner. Also having Beta programmes running on incremental updates is great. All in all very satisfied overall.

So I happen to own OnePlus 5 and proudly bought it on the day it launched in India, and let's face it, apart from decreased bezels and bigger screen, OnePlus 5 just slays them all and even the OnePlus 5T.
Let me justify it before you people come crashing down on me for the revenge.
    Here we go

    (1) Phone Aesthetics: 4/5

So first things first. What do you feel when you handle the phone ???
I feel BLISS. Smooth finishing, anodized aluminium unibody, horizon line, Camera Bump (Just so sexy with the antenna line finishing on top) and then the feel of OnePlus sign. You don't have to worry much about Scratches as you can just rub them off from the back by literally some polite Rubbing.
ONLY downside- camera bump takes care that you can't keep the phone facing upside without the case.

    (2) Display : 4/5

Apt screen, good pixel density and doesn't for a sec feel like it's not QHD
with the various screen calibration modes you can change the way you see the world in here and that's just gets better and better as and how you use.
The only downside that I have felt is that when you're outside, even at full brightness, it feels like dim screen and you can't use your phone properly.

    (3) Software : 4.5/5

Oxygen OS is just one needs who wishes to keep their phone interesting. Changing Accent colors, OnePlus slate font, Reading mode, Gaming Donotdisturb mode(which is just EPIC !!), Extended screenshot (Just love this one) and my Best ones are the Gestures-- too cool OnePlus. NEVER Settle right there for you people and then there are optimisations in the background. All this and still so close to the Stock Android. it's like cherry over icecream but with too many cherries and lots of icecream... yummy!!!

    (4) Hardware : 5/5
let's just have a common ground on this one.
    Snapdragon 835
    8 GB RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1
Just WOW !!!! I mean what more can you expect man. You play games on others too but do you play it seamlessly and without even a minor glitch on the way. You might be multi-tasking on your phone but do you have like 28 to 30 Apps opened in the background and you don't even know about it. You may have the pics in your phone's, but do you have pics of last 6-7 years + Bunch of Movies + downloaded music of 1000 songs. Well that's the way I use my OnePlus 5 guys. Fingerprint sensor is so fast that I barely touch it and I love to flaunt it. Face Unlock is fast too and as explained by @Pete it's safe enough. NO LAG, NO MEMORY ISSUES.

    (5) Camera : 4/5

    >>Front [e]1f4f7[/e] - wide angle, good dynamic range, nice details, sharp images, display flash, face recognition and you can also choose to invert the image from the camera itself...what more do you want from Selfie camera

    >>Rear [e]1f4f7[/e] - I don't think I have to tell anyone about the Cracker Jacker of the camera in OnePlus 5 but since I am writing, I will love to. Dual cameras at the rear in horizontal placing and giving lossless optical zoom. the detailed information in the pics, great dynamic range, HDR shots are very good, recording in 4K with video stabilisation. Low light shots are better than All the phones. That BOKEH...don't get me started...its just

The only downside is comparatively less Dynamic range when it comes to Google Pixel and iPhone X. But then again, these phones cost a fortune and You surely don't want the dynamic range more than you need the money darling.

    (6) DASH CHARGE : 10/5 ( I know that sounds cheesy but I don't care)
Now this is the feature that even Apple loves but they can't have it. That's right apple...in your face, right there !!!
"A day's power in half an hour"
that's how OnePlus advertise it and it actually holds its end of bargain, within matter of no time your phone is charged up. What's incredible is that when you're using and charging, it doesn't affect charging and you can keep doing your work.

    (7) Battery : 3.5/5
Well 3300mAh is a lot of juice but that's the only thing I find OnePlus 5 is behind. On standby it does amazingly well [more so after OnePlus did some kernel modification ] and when on moderate use, you do last the Day smoothly but when you're streaming the shows like on Netflix or Amazon prime, it does drains a lot faster, say about 6-8 hrs but then again, DASH makes up for it. Plug in and Forget

    OVERALL -- 4.5/5
This complete package cost me nearly ₹ 39k but is better than Apple where I have to compromise on Connectivity, sharing, after purchases and repair costs. Better than all high end smartphones who come at compromise of quality for the stuff packed in them like Samsung.
OnePlus is built for long term, it's quality driven, cares to hear their customer base, make this whole community a one big family.
Using OnePlus makes one feel as distinct from other smartphone users. I guess that's how apple customers feel but the difference between them and us is that we are Connected and discuss and share.
    Global Community.
    MINE BETTER THAN YOURS
    NEVER SETTLE !!

    Some suggestions --
    1) Full display Contact Pic when someone calls.
    2) OnePlus's own messages (like iMessage)

Well, My First Phone is Yu Yuphoria and that was my first phone ever, handy touch screen smartphone but the battery used to drain alot despite of the fact that it has stock android ui,so thinking of a bigger battery,i brought the Asus ZenFone max 5000 MaH,it had a heavy battery backup,It used to have less updates and ui isn't that good...
I'm not really enjoying my Phone and my father offered me to get a new phone but i wasn't sure which phone to buy...
First What i thought about is samsung but these samsung mobiles are not sleek and u know they look like heavy and most of the people use samsung,i thought of iphone then..well in this case the iphone had single sim, price is too high and low battery etc...And some of those selfie phones(@OPPO @VIVO) were although of no use...I saw Oneplus 3t....Comparatively its cheap with high end specifications...It had a snap dragon 821 processor..I'm from a middle class family ...I think at a very nominal and economically.I expect everything to be there in what i had purchased..THen there is this Beast from the Oneplus____The Oneplus3T...The camera in the op3t felt soooo GOOd that i felt it to be a protable dslr. Most of the dslr's camera have 16mp and op3t has the same mp both at the rear and front and the photos from it are very classsy.Next was the 6gb ram _/\_ Son Of The God  NO other Smartphones have 6gb ram at 25k Rupees and it gets updates frequently. The User Interface is sexy and You can customize the fonts and change the themes from dark to default and light etc..Amoled Screeen <3 Fastest Finger Print Sensor and the dash charge is one of the best things that oneplus team has come up with..I didnt even have the necessity to buy a power bank..In just half an hr it get charged from o to atmost 75 %..Android Updated From Marshmellow to Oreo. The body is soo strong and is almost indestructible to any physical Damager and the pocket mode Was a premium comfort!!The Battery backup is sooooooo Good ...It Lasts a day for me even with a heavy usage..At the end of the day the battery in percentageis most likely to be in between 11-20.Storage is 64GB__Thats more than what we expect at such a less price. The Oneplus Has done inexplicably great job..Hope You Guys #NEVERSETTLE and still satisfy your customers In every aspect...Eagerly waiting for op6 contests !!!! Thankyou #Peace

My OnePlus 3 is now 1 year old and a bit more. it's still the beast it was on day one. Superior performance, a great camera as I see it. I use the google camera mod APK for that. Dash charging is the best out there. kills it for me.
everything about this phone is superb! it looks gorgeous and I have the subtle soft gold Beauty in my hand.
It has given some problems with the wifi and sim network signals, but I managed to figure them out. software updates have run dry after last November.

two things which bother me are
    1. mediocre battery life
    2. mediocre selfie cam.

if these two could be fixed. it is still the best phone out there for what it costs!

cheers OnePlus! waiting for OP6. #NONOTCHPLEASE

    I owned following devices ( android ) since last 5 years .

Before that it was Nokia c6-01 one of my best device while in college. But it never challenged the android devices .

Then I switched to Samsung galaxy S4. Which was best again but not even for 4-6months and started lagging .
Got irritated with that devices I searched for another one and saw oneplOn 2. But I didn't go for that.
Then saw OnePlus 3 but didn't go for that too and selected Moto z play instead. And it was better .

I was worried about the branding of Oneplus , reason , it was new. And there are many Chinese company out there who says it is one of the best phone with minimum pricing. Mean while I bought 2 Redmi devices for my sisters .

But having Moto z play with clean and stock OS was the best thing .

Within one month I started not liking it . Reason it lacks the screen mirroring option and some other very basic features. I mean for screen mirroring you need to buy chromecast . I mean what is the point of buying a device at such a high price and not even performing basic task which all other branding does even with 5-6K indian rupee.

Then one day I saw the ad of OnePlus 5 and It looked amazing.

I bought it . And trust me it is the best device yet. The look , the feel and the cleaness of the device as well as the oxygen OS .

    It's wow.
An os which is far better than any other os right now in world. So clean so fast .

What I loved in OnePlus device is the oxygen OS and the updates how OnePlus devices deliver.

Coming to the hardware , its awesome again. The edge. The weight . The slider key. Just wow. battery , just wow. I mean screen on time with average of 5-7 hour is far better .

I have seen it competing with top model of other branding and every time it beat them .

Even when it doesn't, trust me when OnePlus 5 is competed with Google pixel 2 and still manages to compete is much more than what I expected.

Having this device really make me feel proud when my friends says your phone is awesome.

Additionally it has never failed , never got stuck . Leave them. It never even got slower. That's a way better than any other devices out there.

I hope OnePlus will keep oxygen OS clean and smooth.

    Never Settle

    My opinions on Oneplus devices
I have the Oneplus 5 and I must say I really like this phone,
I've sticked to Oneplus since april 2014, and registered my account 2 months after as I was trying to get an invite,

    About the Oneplus 5
    screen:
I feel the next step should be a higher resolution despite the price of the device going up, as staying to the same resolution might not be the way to attract new customers,

    features:
Something I HOPE for the Oneplus 6 is without a doubt water resistance/waterproof
If it could be waterproof my upcoming summer would be even greater

    processor:
As usual with any Oneplus device, no complaints at all.
It handles everything great you throw at it.

    Camera:
it takes very good pictures and video's with the right settings in daylight,
at nighttime i've had some shots that suffered sometimes by grainyness or noise.

    sound:
I use Oneplus bullets always since 2015, ever since the first version i've always liked them, used JBL 1+, as well.

In my opinion my OnePlus 5t isn't comparable with any devices I used previously.

my previous devices are Samsung galaxy note5 and LG G6.
let me compare with LG G6 as that's the last device I used before OnePlus 5T.

Display: as we see now a days all the phones are 18:9 screen ratios, so I preferred LG G6 which is 5.7 inches only.. and it looks so small. so I moved to OnePlus 5T and this display looks stunning and perfect size for my usage with its 6.01inches display. had more space to use and to look for more content.

battery life is excellent, with heavy usage I'm getting 6hrs screen on time from 100 to 10percent. mostly I go to bed with 35percent charge remaining. and the dash charging is like a blink.. the mobile gets charged so fast even with screen on or off with same pace.

and always OnePlus comes with the latest SoC and extra ram compared to all other flagships with their best price. and my OnePlus 5T is so fast compared to all other phones in the market right now. after using 5T I can't even think of going back to LG G6 which can't be comparable with speed.

Oxygen OS is so good and love that it's almost nothing changed with pure Android. and it's more easy to use compared to LG's UI, which is so slow and complex to use.

camera is also good but not the best. and in day light situations it's like a pro and the shots are almost good, but it suffers a lot in night time, with like oil paint photos and some are better in some situations.

Overall the OnePlus 5T is best in many situations.
the one thing we miss here is dust and water resistant. which is the best feature in LG G6. Hope this comes with next phone from OnePlus.

We love OnePlus 5T guys.. in my friends group of 6 we are having 4 OnePlus phones. now u can understand the love from us. [e]2764[/e]️

I have tried many devices over years and i can say unfortunately i've just met Oneplus since the 3 is out. I wish i could go back in time and show it to myself to make my everyday and gaming life easier and quicker.
I work in a carphone warehouse store and every now and then somebody comes in and asking about oneplus devices. I am a proud mama of not even one of them and i am always happy to explain the difference between phone and phone even if we dont sell any oneplus. :)
I use my 3t for work, official and/or adult stuff, and i have got my 5t for gaming since the first day it came out. This particular game needs strong internals so its very good for me to see the difference in hardware. I have never been so happy with any of my previous devices and looking forward to buy the 6 however the notch is something what i do not prefer because of two reasons. 1. OCD would punch me in the face 2. Kinda copies apple wich is not worthy i think. Probably some stereo speakers would be great because of the landscape mode gaming and a screen what does not burn ;)
Just keep up the good work Oneplus guys on any level, nobody wants to go back to another brand after having a oneplus. And i am one of them
