I would love that too, but I suppose that the manufacturing cost of the older model wouldn't go down much since the components would still be fairly recent. So I don't think it would see a decent price reduction.

Even so, it would still be slightly "cheaper" than the current model so may still sell. As long as they could reduce production without impacting the bottom line it would work but if they start getting stuck with inventory or cost increase and they decrease the number they manufacture then it wouldn't be worth it.

Hey here are my points for Oneplus and its Devices,

Worth the money for the features and the experience.
Dash charge capability- You can't get over it ever.
Freedom to unlock bootloader and flash new roms.
Development and updating of Roms(un-Official) by the community.
Forum for support from users all over the world and tutorials for general troubleshooting and twaeking.
    Frequent OS Updates.
Near Stock android experience with good customization.
Device bundled with most of the required features.
    Fast Finger print scanners.
    Alert Sliders.
Better probability of the user's opinions being heard.
No drastic price drop with time.
    Decent cameras.
    Head Phone Jack :p

Increasing price trend of the devices with a lot of money lately going into marketing.
Unavailability of older models. Even if someone wants to stick to an older design, they leave no choice. It goes out of stock almost 2-3 weeks before the new release.
Below average customer support and online store experience.
Follows the trend and plays too safe. No innovation.
    No mid range device available.
Costly Official accessories with limited stock.
    The trend of 'T' series.
    No wireless charging.
