Even though no official specs have been released the LG G3 has been showing up in recent benchmarks sporting a quad hd display. These are the most recent rumored specs of the upcoming LG G3

5.5 quad hd LCD (LTPS technology display) 1440x2560

2.3 ghz quad core 801 Snapdragon (Same as z2)

    3 GB ram

    Water proof

    16mp camera with optic stabilization

    UI similar to Aviate

G2 button placement with fingerprint scanner

Although unofficial these specs sound amazing. And judging by the g2, this phone shouldn't disappoint. Will you buy the opo on launch, or does the g3 spark your interest enough to make you wait?

Pretty sure the G3 will be at a much higher price point.. Possibly even twice as much. Sure it sparks my interest but I'm more interested in the OPO right now.

G2 was my goal before I heard of 1+1. I like the specs and find the overall design appealing and I would have bought it if not for the fact that it was practically unavailable in Belgium (32GB ver.) unless I was OK with paying significantly more than in neighbouring countries.
The G3 will probably be amazingly good and if price didn't matter I would definitely wait for it before making any decisions. Chances are I would have also chosen it over 1+1. But there's this price issue. I'm sure it will be again the same thing - it will be overpriced. It's just way more then I want to spend on a phone.

The Nexus 6 will be a stripped down version of the G3 (in a lot of ways), but that would mean waiting until the fall, and the specs still probably wouldn't be as high as the 1+1.

A co-worker has a G2 and I think it's a great looking phone. The pictures it takes are also amazing, though no SD and expensive.

I agree the lg g3 will probably be very expensive. But I feel if your already investing 400 dollars into a phone, why not not spend a lil more to get the extra features. Quad display with power consumption of a 1080 screen, Waterproof, 16mp camera with optic stabilization vs digital stabilization, and the fact I can put insurance on the phone seems worth the extra money to me. I love the opos specs, but if I lose it Or break it that 400 bucks down the drain. Insurance is a big plus

Yup - 16GB. 32GB is 369-399 and sold only by third party companies which means highly possible problems with warranty especially if you're not in UK.
Which is of course still cheap in comparison to the price from 3 months ago.

True that. I'd say it's still an ok deal at that price

Not as much with the 1+1 into consideration though, lol

I am curious to see if Oneplus cuts corners(e.g. build quality) in order to offer such a decent price. I really hope not.
I will see what the reviewers have to say before I drop $400+.

You're assuming the N6 will be LG for a 3rd time in a row. Which would be a slap in the face to the OHA.

They aren't making a profit on the device. The Samsung S5 costs $250 to build (and sells for $650). They are a huge company with vertical integration and supply a lot of their own components and are making millions of devices so that reduces their cost, but even still, when you consider that, it's easy to understand how 1+ can make a great device for $400.

Well I am divided between LGG3 and OPO. Price doesn't concers me, more important is the quality. I find optical stabilization very tasty, but if OPO makes their digital stabilization good I will buy it I guess.

Time is money for all (well almost 99.99% of people)
If you have time & money then buying G3 is fruitful else buying OPO now is wise coz specs and build quality it provides is gonna be great for ~400$

Food for thought: What is the use of having a big pond (LG G3) tomorrow when you are dying now of thirst in a desert  so drinking water (OPO) now will save your life :p:D

I own a G2 (best phone I've ever had and I love it so much more than the S4) and was waiting on the G3 but with the price difference, I'm not sure I can justify the purchase.

Well, between 400 and 500 dollars I'm okay with what you said, but if it's 400 vs 800 is not a little bit more, is twice the price. And that's gonna be like this for real.
