    (WORK IN PROGRESS)

    Fellow NFC users:

Please help me compile more information on the OPO's compatibility with various NFC technologies, specifically whether it successfully reads and/or writes industry-standard tags.

@Carl or @David S. can you please verify the exact NFC chipset being used in the OPO?

EDIT: No need, it was possible to find the information (with great difficulty) elsewhere.

NFC Compatibility Chart has been update again (no thanks to OnePlus, the company, or CyanogenMod folks).

I have Samsung TecTiles and they DO NOT seem to be working.

I assume these are MIFARE 1K and those, from your chart above, have already been determined not to work with the OPO.

But I'm still posting this because I'm not really up to speed with the NFC tech yet and I could be misinterpreting.

I have no TecTiles to test myself, so based my chart results on anecdotal evidence provided elsewhere. If you think it was premature of me to add TecTiles to the "Working" section, no problem, I can take them off (for now).

As for MiFARE 1K Classic tags, the general consensus is that they won't (indeed can't) work with the OPO, and that this issue is unlikely to be rectified through software updates alone.

You should wait until the next OTA to update... they're supposed to fix these issues and it should be coming out soon...

I re-read what you posted earlier, and yes, the original TecTiles are basically MiFARE 1k's.

TecTiles 2(!!) are NTAG203's and thus work almost universally with any reader/writer, even the OPO.

Hi Libra Sun. I'm wondering if you have any more NFC info to share. BTW it seems to me that this should be the official OnePlus NFC thread. Have you followed up on whether MiFare Classic tag compatibility might be implemented with an upcoming update? Or if that's an impossibility due to Cyanogen, is there a possibility that it could work with a different ROM, AOSP perhaps?

I appreciate where you're coming from, but unfortunately, OnePlus hasn't said jack shite about NFC nor responded to my inquiries or posts (ever).

So let's not hold our breath here.

I will say that I continually update my chart (post #1) whenever new information comes my way.

    Most recently, I noticed that:

    (A) Trying to scan Topaz-based tags from WhizTags.com caused my NFC Re-Tag app to crash every time;

    (B) Oops, you cannot cut 1/16" off the edge of a WhizTags tag and expect it to work ever again (kills the antenna!).

I like the way you think, and was wondering the same thing!

Still, CM's team hasn't chimed in, and OnePlus never will, but yours at least is a testable theory!
