<3 Ubuntu. I've converted my mom and my best friend already. Buddy's ~8 year old laptop runs astoundingly fast with Ubuntu on it. Saved him from buying a new laptop.

Started with Slackware back in 1997, installed with the help of a friend. A couple of months later I installed Debian on my own (2.1 if I'm not mistaken). Lived with that for a few years, then tried Redhat, Mandriva, and went immediately back to Debian. Then Ubuntu came out, and I rode that wave for a few years. I've been on Arch since 2012, and it looks like I'm settling in :)

Moved to i3wm on the desktop recently, very fast, very functional, and makes good use of the keyboard. Along with vimperato for Firefox, I rarely touch the mouse these days.

Started back in the late 90's, grabbed a copy of redhat from Hastings... It was horrible lol. Not long after I started using Slackware, which was much better. Linux from scratch when it first came out then gentoo. Now days Linux mint works for me, but really liked archbang for a good 6 months not long ago.

I started with Mandrake in 1998.

I've mainly used SuSE (6.x-9.x), SLES (8-11), RHEL/CentOS (4-6) and about every version of Ubuntu since 4.10. Also tried some less known distributions.

I've built my own system from sources (Linux from scratch) in ~2004. I've run Linux on very small devices (like on a Cubietruck) and on very big ones (IBM Mainframes under z/VM).

I'll let you know once I'll put my hands on One :) Got no invites yet.

But I don't think there should be any reason to worry. I have much older android phones, and never had any problems. Actually my wife's old HTC Desire sometimes gets locked somehow when she disconnects it from a windows machine without "unmounting" it first. Sometimes after this she doesn't see the phone when it's connected to USB (not even after rebooting both the phone and the windows) Then she comes to my Linux, connects it, and it fixes it...

I use Ubuntu because it is the most Windows-like Linux. Generally though I am on Windows. I use Linux for my programming homework because it makes me feel cool.

I started with super old red hat when I was a kid. Got back into it/became full time Linux user with Ubuntu 10.04 and still use Ubuntu as my main distro. I also have an Arch box as well!
