M1628164555804 , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Dec 21, 2021 : How can i make local update on oxygen os 12 (can't find item in settings)?
Aaron2017 , Dec 21, 2021 : You need to install this APK (click on APK in the quote) Once installed long press it>choose rename>delete .zip so it has APK at the end and you can install it. It's the old system updater with local upgrade option
Muqsit Sheikh , via OnePlus 9 , Dec 21, 2021 : Installed it but now showing me option to install update even though the update file is placed on the root folder
Aaron2017 , Dec 21, 2021 : Does the file end with .jar? If so rename it and delete that so it has .zip at the end. What version are you on exactly and which version are you trying to install?
Muqsit Sheikh , via OnePlus 9 , Dec 21, 2021 : No it's .zip at the end. I'm on c.36 (global) and trying to install the hotfix c.39
Muqsit Sheikh , via OnePlus 9 , Dec 21, 2021 : Shows me this even though the update file is placed on the root folder.
Aaron2017 , Dec 21, 2021 : Delete the previous file and try this one from XDA https://www.xda-developers.com/oneplus-resumes-oxygenos-12-rollout-oneplus-9-9-pro/ I have had this myself once or twice, it didn't see the file in local upgrade when i used oxygen updater and tried XDA both times and they did work.
Aaron2017 , Dec 21, 2021 : That's weird. I'll link a thread where the last comment is from a user who fixed it but it does involve having to factory reset the device https://forums.oneplus.com/threads/unable-to-update-my-phone.1528014/ It's up to you if you want to do that or not or if you want to wait for the update to come OTA
Swejuggalo , via OnePlus 9 Pro Morning Mist , Dec 21, 2021 : Any screenshots of the the file? Md5 hash? Sure it's the right C39? Md5 according to Oxygen Updater = e8fefef0eb2323e902ebea98b77304f2 . Only works on the right phone model with NA firmware at C36.
Muqsit Sheikh , via OnePlus 9 , Dec 21, 2021 : This could probably be the case. I am using the global variant which might be different from the NA one
Swejuggalo , via OnePlus 9 Pro Morning Mist , Dec 21, 2021 : There is no "global" anymore. NA (what used to be called global), IN and EU + any carrier models. (not counting Chinese model)
Swejuggalo , via OnePlus 9 Pro , Jan 17, 2022 : Place the necessary incremental update in the root folder and install this tool to upgrade. That file must be an apk to be able to install. Rename if not. Also rename incremental file to zip if not. https://oxygenos.oneplus.net/OPLocalUpdate_For_Android12.apk https://www.rmupdate.com/2021/12/30...es-system-and-5g-network-issue-download-link/
Swejuggalo , Jan 18, 2022 : Are you on C36 and download the correct incremental for the right version you already have? Remember that there are several incremental. Only one works. If for example on 9 Pro India C36 you need the incremental for C36 India. If on C39 you need the one for C39. Can you share some screenshots that might show what could be wrong?
