An app is constantly using your location or accessing it. It might be your launcher (if it's anything other than OnePlus launcher). Long press on location icon, then you'll know which app is using your location.

My location icon is randomly showing also. Didn't do this before. I have looked at recent apps that use location. And allowed
recent apps location permission only while running. Closed all apps and icon still shows. Why is this now showing all the time. And why is there no selection in Icon Manager to turn it off. (I think there used to be)

It's probably being used by an app that has background permission to your location settings, this might be your launcher or weather app. Long press the location icon in the drop down menu, that'll show you which app has been using your location.

Happens to me too. I guess its Instagram or some bull$hit google service, even though turned off, but im not sure. A restart always helps though.

    The problem fixed itself gladly.
I didn't do anything to fix it and I am pretty sure it had nothing to do with any app constantly having permission over my location.
Thank you people for the replies either way. 💯

It's because the onplus scout ( the launcher) using location by default... Try to turn off permission from its app info...and then restart... Read that they may fix it on next update

That doesn't help. By default, it has always been ON but this problem has raised just now right.

    Hi team,

I have been seeing the location icon bug Thread a lot and the response to that is "We have a dropped a personal mail to solve your issue". So I'm starting this this for the same reason.

The bug is really annoying and most of us would really appreciate it if this was fixed soon.

    Thanks
