I have been using Samsung note series prior to this. In Samsung you had the option of locking screen while watching videos by pressing power button. The videos kept playing and we're visible but there is no such option available on the one plus 5.

I'm not too sure what you mean. Pressing the power button while playing an YouTube video will make the video stop - as with any other phone.

I have a samsung galaxy note 4. I have videos in the phone memory. When I play the video and tap on the screen it shows the progress bar of the video, and when I press the power button it screenlocks so that now when I tap the screen again it shows a screen lock and will remain locked until I press the power button again. This feature is useful when playing videos and you don't want the progress bar to show if accidentally you tapped the screen. I am uploading 2 pics, one pic shows the progress bar and the other when I press the power button which screen locks and keeps playing the video with lock pic in the upper right hand corner.

This function is absent in the OP5!!!

Try using MX player or VLC player. Those apps this functionality.
The feature you are talking is not the android default features.

I have 3 Samsung phones, galaxy note2, note4 and K-Zoom. They are all running Android and have the screen lock function by default. I haven't installed any third party software on them. it's the default video player which is installed in the Android OS.

This is not a standard Android feature, it is a feature that Samsung have added to make it s default SAMSUNG feature.

as above try VLC or MX player to obtain this feature.

Truly said by Nitin. It's not Android feature it's Samsung's bloatware feature.

actually I play videos for my kid who is under 2 years old and she likes to catch the phone and keep tapping the home button or the screen. So this feature comes in handy.

It's actually a very good feature which avoid accidental touches while travelling or when someone poking your phone while you are watching video.

Use this feature alongwith Game Do Not Disturb mode and your kid won't be able to do anything with the phone except to watch or close the phone.

Ohh. You wanted this feature? I thought you just want to avoid accidental touches. In VLC and MX player video will be locked but keys will be working. With Game Do Not Disturb your keys and notification will stop working but still you can do next or back on the video app.

I guess you can not automate the Game Do Not Disturb mode for gallery app. For other apps it's showing.
You have to take the pain to manually activate it from drop down menu.

Just drop down the notification panel.
Click on pencil button and add this Game Do Not Disturb mode quick icon to your notification panel. The icon will be like below.

was able to add game do not disturb mode in the notification panel. It kinda solved one problem of home button while playing videos but the screen progress bar still appears if you tap on screen while the video is playing. Any other tweak....your help is greatly appreciated[e]1f44d[/e]
