A friend of me bought a Pela Case for his iPhone. (https://pelacase.com/) It looks nice, but also is made from compostable material. I'm looking for something similar for my OnePlus 7 Pro. Made from recycled or compostable material. Anyone know a brand that has cases like this?

OK...serious question here. Why would you want your case to be from compostable material? What's the big deal? Why not your standard rubberized case?

it's more of a question coming from my conscience than it is practical. someday I will have to throw out the case I would buy and I'd rather throw away something that has already been recycled or is easier to recycle than rubber. see the llastic soup, climate change and all other shit we're doing to the planet because of mindless consumption.

I don't want to start a debate with you. But if that's your whole feeling about it, then don't buy a phone. Because the stuff that is put into the phone is more toxic than the rubber case to protect the phone. If you're going to be like that with something as simple as a phone case, then you need to ask about the clothing you wear, the shoe you wear, the electronics in your house, the car you drive. Everything. Everything has consequence to this planet. There are no biodegradable Smart phones or TVs. Just sayin'.

Of course, but I can't really function in my job and this world in general without a phone. So the one I've bought, I'll be using it untill it's impossible to repair it. That way I'll minimize my impact on the environment. A nice, biodegradable case would be a nice extra.

Generally speaking OnePlus' aren't really "well known by startups or one off case manufacturers" so I don't think such cases exist/will exist for OnePlus 7 Pro

I found a case on Amazon that uses TPU plastics. From my limited research on this plastic it appears to be biodegradable. Can't find any cases recycled though.

    Case on Amazon:

    Google search of TPU plastics:

Thanks for asking though, I was thinking the same thing. Also, tuanv1996 is a punta. Cheers[e]1f37b[/e]

I had to create an account just to be able to answer this question. Your reasoning makes no sense. Honestly. So just because you are doing something that it's not good for the planet (i.e. buying a phone), you shouldn't try anymore? Following that logic, if you are eating healthy and one day you eat a Twix, there's no point in continuing eating healthy, correct? let's just give up altogether. So please let's not discourage the few people in the world that care about the environment. It's pretty obvious that you cannot live without an smartphone, whereas it's perfectly possible to buy a biodegradable phone case (and for that matter, a lot of other things can be bought biodegradable or with a lower impact on the planet). And yes, we do look at the clothes we buy (I only buy second hand), the food we eat (no plastic wrapping and not eating meat among other things), I do not use a car, ever (I cycle or take public transport when necessary), do not own a TV. And lastly I use a phone because there's no better alternative. The moment they make a phone that's better for the environment, I'll buy it. Have a nice day

I agree it's totally possible to live a more environmentally friendly life and that ever little thing helps. However, your analogy is not very accurate. It's more like eating junk food all the time and calling yourself healthy because you had a salad once .

I'm not saying you shouldn't eat that salad or buy that biodegradable case - because it all helps - but surely you can see there are bigger issues to be tackle. I believe this is what tuanv1966 meant.
