Looking for Potential Vacation Destinations! Jul 22, 2019

Hello all!
It occurred to me a few weeks ago that I haven't gone on vacation since prior to college - it's been a solid 6+ years since my last vacation.

I'm a big time planner, so I like to have things planned way in advance. Spontaneity can be fun, but only for smaller things in my opinion. Very few people can convince me to do things spontaneously...

Anyway! Next September I'll have maxed out my vacation time and will stop earning until I take some, so I want to plan a vacation some time in the next year. I want to travel and think it would be fun, but have no idea where to go. I've looked at New Zealand, Australia, and Iceland and they all look super exciting.

I would love to hear your suggestions! Whether you have ideas for a specific place to go or things to do, I'm open to your ideas! For what it's worth, I live in California in the USA, if that helps you narrow down what might be a good vacation destination for me!

Where should I go?
What's the best time of year to visit this place?
What things should I do there?
Should I go alone or bring a friend or family member (or more than one)?
