Joel Jacob, Feb 11, 2019 : // CONTEST UPDATE // Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who participated. This contest saw a bunch of different poems which covered pretty much everything to do with Valentine's day: Humour, romance, sadness (a lot of it) and a bunch of poems that made no sense but still managed to crack us up. Judging the winning poem was quite hard cause we I had to look for creative entries as well as poems which stuck to the theme of 'Love Yourself'. And with that, I closed in on the top entry for the contest. Our winner is @palc for a poem that captured the theme and also painted a good, relatable picture. Title: Tighten my sail. There was a time when trees were green, Life had colors and shone pristine. Then you wrecked a havoc, raised storms, One that made trees go pale, leaching with worms. Dull grey everything became, And hence I tightened my sail; Decided to keep on going, oh yes! This is the end to this journey, who says? I am the sailor and this is my ship! I decided I will not let it slip. Bright, again, everything became Ever since I decided to tighten my own sail. And with this, we bring our contest to an end. A shoutout to our friends from other parts of the world who contributed and a special mention to @YRJ (Actually loved your hindi poem xD), @buntycubal and @luxuskamel (For the unconventional poetry writing skills), @Bouncer71 (Nice way to end with BFMV) and @script for their creative entries.
