on the lowest volume (for media) i still feel it is anything but discrete. only alternative is headphones. but other phones can be put on a much lower volume, so should be possible with an update?

Are you talking about media volume? I would agree. Kind of wish there was a 1 speaker option as well.

Personally, I think the ringtone volume needs to be a little louder. You can always adjust the volume of the media you are watching through the player to further lower the volume to a level you are happy with.

Please go to settings and search for "hearing aid compatibility" and check if that option is enabled. If it is, disable it.

    Report back afterwards.

That's new. It has always been there. Probably someone with a OnePlus 7 Pro can check it.

Anyways, does your audio volume increase or decrease when you press the volume keys?

    having the same issue.
but with the calls. cannot change the volume, no matter what i do. i see the phone when i press the volume, but the keys control the media. i manually move the slider, does not change, no matter if i try to increase or decrease (that's the lowest it goes for phone).

Also, when i go to the settings, the call volume is not there

Please notice on both screenshots, i'm in a call at the moment

    You are right.
    It's a similar issue
but i also have the same issue you mean, like the lowest volume for media is still to high, let's say.. if we have 20 steps for volume, the step from 0 (mute) to 1 is way too big

I agree with all of the above. The lowest volume is still uncomfortably loud.

I have been searching high and low to find an app to fix this, so far without much success.

I nearly gave up all hopes that OnePlus will fix it. You can find threads like this since the OnePlus 3, but nothing happened.

Unbelievable. OnePlus add dual speakers after being hammered for the last year because they didn't offer it. Now that it is offered - people want the option to disable one speaker because it is too loud.

    OnePlus will never win.
