    I noticed that too. It's not brighter, it's a color change. I don't know why this happens but honestly it's a minor issue comparing to the tinting issues, and doesn't seem to be hardware related.

    @Shawn L.
    OTA to improve experience? This is an hardware issue, oneplus just needs to replace the devices with issues instead of trying to fix it via software, otherwise it will end up being like the 8 pro history all over again, where the people that had a unit with an acceptable panel is now having issues after the updates. When you change the color profiles and calibration via software, you will end up messing with the good / acceptable panels. There is no way to fix this properly via software.

    Decreasing the minimum brightness level its just a lazy fix for the issue.

    This post made me think about returning my device. My first oneplus device was a 8 pro and was an horrible experience because of the screen issues.

    I've cancelled my Amazon preorder, I've spent far too much time, over the past few days, reading soo many issues with this phone, on these forums and on Reddit, deliberating what best to do.

    Midrange this phone may be and coming from a OP3, which has served me really well over nearly 4 years, the Nord is still £380 and thats still alot of money to put a gamble on a phone which seems to be plagued with problems already and questionable quality issues, even OP said it was a rushed through project to launch (in the midst of the pandemic situation) and maybe this will prove to be a lesson learn't as they develop there next phone. I suspect as many more people get this phone, next week, we'll see more and more people disappointed with the phone, especially as the whole OLED screen tint defects seems to be quite widespread on top of other issues (maybe fixable thru software??)
    The whole experience of getting a new phone should be a positive one and all i've felt, over the past week is fear and worry for what unit i would receive and the want to check its screen the moment i booted it up!
    I know people will say, "Just get the phone and if it has defects, return it" but to be honest, if my gut tells me, based on what i've read so far, why go through all of the hastle and process.
    The Pixel 4a is to be announced tomorrow and this was going to be my first choice, up until the delays were speculated but it now seems, its finally coming, so i'm going to refocus on that.
    I cancelled my Nord preorder with a heavy heart, I really wanted this phone and hope Oneplus can fix the issues that the community are posting at the moment or at least address them with support, moving forward.
    I'm more disappointed that Oneplus, as a company, has not really posted anything meaningful, to their community of early adopters with regards to the issues many are facing with their devices.

    It's not in every NORD device, that's for sure. Only oneplus knows how many complaints they have received.

    It will be an issue... since you'll use it so much...the display is never gonna get better... you'll play games.... watch thousands of videos..movies...AOD will come in Android 11...im guessing nord will get that pretty soon.. that'll play its part..if the device has issues... return it.. buy something else..

    Totally agree with you, that's the problem... If the update is released in 10 days and you notice that it does not fix the problem, you will no longer be able to get a refund...
