you're wrong. the McLaren edition comes with the $30 bumper case. being that the regular 256gb version is $630, that's only a $70 difference in price, which $30 of that is the cost of the bumper case. so technically you're only paying $40 more for the McLaren edition, which has a custom design, the new warp charging, and it comes with all of extras in the box. I'd say it's a pretty damn good deal [e]1f44d[/e]

also, I used my student discount, and only paid $675 after the $10 for shipping. So technically, I only paid $5 more than the regular 256gb version would have been with the extra bumper case, without the student discount

funny thing is that I used it last year to buy stupid accessories for my 5T before I knew you could only use it once a year! and it renewed like a day before this McLaren edition was released [e]1f44d[/e] perfect timing!

ya it's only 5% off a device, but it took $35 off the $700 so not bad at all. made the purchase alot more justifiable lol. now I just need to sell my matte black 8gb/128gb version for like $500 [e]1f44d[/e]

True, but the problem with the Android OS or any is that they kill that app is background, so have to reload each time when you open it, 6GB is more than enough in my frank opinion for an Android Phone or they do something like OPPO going to do with the OS in their ViVO nex2 with 10GB of RAM to utilize 10GB of RAM properly..

Oops just noticed a typo in my post. Auto complete monster got me. Meant to say "That should..."

Anyway, it was just a joke. 10GB on a phone is overkill unless the OS has no memory management capabilities. :)

Come to think of it... OnePlus should've called this the "Pimp my Ride (phone)" edition instead. All it is is just a cosmetic change with boost in RAM. That's the same as hooking up a beat up 1990 Honda Civic and giving it a fresh coat of paint and subwoofers. It doesn't run any faster. So, calling out a "McLaren" edition can be misleading and, at times, false advertising.

How is it misleading? It comes with mclaren packaging, mclaren theme, mclaren color scheme, and a mclaren case. It also comes with the warp charger for a faster charge. They spelled out everything that’s included, so how can it be misleading? I guess the same can be said for any special edition phone that gets released then.

I wanted to buy one, but for some reason I just couldn’t go through with the purchase. Especially since OnePlus already confirmed they will be one of the first OEMs to use the SnapDragon 855 and have a 5G phone out, this model will be outdated in less than 5 months going based on their typical release schedule. But congrats to everyone who got one and are loving it!

I was thinking about holding off until next year as well, but no matter what, new releases and new tech are always just a "few months" away. No matter when you decide to purchase, something better is always around the corner. Enjoy what you buy now. By the time you upgrade, the next big thing will be waiting for you.
