    Frequently Asked Questions(FAQs)
    Q) I cannot create a thread in X section, what am I doing wrong?
    A) For keeping the forum clean, new members are not allowed to post for the first 15 days of the creation of the account before they are more familiar with the forum. However, you will still be able anything to post in the Starting Point section, where a selection of people will assist you in your first few days in the forum before you are ready! Feel free to ask them anything.

    Q) Face Unlock doesn't work! I just have to swipe up to unlock!
    A) Most likely Smart Lock is the cause behind this! To fix this, simply go to Settings>Security & Lockscreen> Smart Lock: Disable Everything.

    Q) Signature Verification Failed! How do I fix this!?
    A) There are a few fixes for this:
    a) From the file manager enable show hidden files and head over to .OTA folder and delete the file in that folder. Now download the update using a stable network, try with both WiFi as well as Mobile Network.
    b) Download the full zip from OnePlus downloads website(
http://downloads.oneplus.com/) or Funk Wizard's thread in XDA(Grab the link from the main post) and flash from recovery via local upgrade.

    Q) I did not receive the update, I'm in X place, please help!
    A) If the update is a stable update, it is incremental and will eventually reach out to you, and if it is a beta update, follow the instructions provided in the first post of the official thread(links in the first post of this thread). If you are too eager to try out the new stuff and accept potential bugs:
[Applies to BOTH Beta and Stable]
    a) Download the app "Oxygen Updater" from Play Store and follow instructions.
    b) Download the full zip from OnePlus downloads website(
http://downloads.oneplus.com/) or Funk Wizard's thread in XDA(Grab the link from the main post) and flash from recovery via local upgrade.
    [Applies ONLY to Stable]
    c) Grab a VPN like
TunnelBear VPN or TurboVPN and set the location to Germany or Canada, and simply head over to Settings>System updates and update as usual.

    Q) Why can't OnePlus keep up with Google's monthly updates? Especially since smaller companies like Nokia(HMD Global) can do the same?
    A) To be fair, it's not completely OnePlus' fault. They don't use patches from Google directly(Because their ROM is mainly based on CAF) and CAF has always been notoriously behind on security updates. And we pretty much have everything from the January patch, merged separately for the same reason as above. Google's February patch had issues on every phone that got it, which again favours OnePlus to wait it out and test it before merging it. Also, companies like HMD(Nokia), Essential, etc. can provide it quickly because they are AOSP based and use patches from Google directly.

    Q) Omg! I got a trophy! Must announce to the world!!
    A) Congratulations on your first trophy! But remember, this isn't a social media website, it's not appropriate to make threads for such things. If you're wondering how you got the trophy, have a look at this. Don't let this discourage you from posting though! As long as you follow the guidelines, you're free to do (almost) anything! Have fun spamming ;)

    Q) Why can't I have dual VoLTE on my OnePlus 3/T and 5/T? It doesn't allow my Jio(and similar) sim to function properly.
    A) Dual VoLTE support has been enabled on the Snapdragon 845 and above. So, anything below that is not capable of dual VoLTE due to hardware limitations. They do however support dual standby, ie. only one is active, but you can receive regular calls on both. The issue with Jio now is that it requires VoLTE being a 4G only network and cannot be accessed through calls via 2/3G networks. So, there is pretty much nothing that can be done.
"But the Nokia 7 Plus with SD660 released in the same cycle has Dual VoLTE support".
There was a new variant of the SDM660 released with Dual 4G/VoLTE support by Qualcomm. This is not something that can be added as a firmware patch via OTA, you will have to buy a new phone.

    Q) My battery drains and I have no idea why!
    A) 16. Debugging Battery drain
    Finding what drains your Battery:

Method 1 (quick & but less information)
    1) Install BetterBatteryStats ( BBS ) app from here.
    2) Let the phone run and continue using it.
    3) Check in the BBS app if there is any unusual wakelock (kernel and user apps) or alarms.
Method 2 (advanced but very detailed)
    1) Take a bug report with ADB. In a terminal from your computer enter (for example):
    Code:
    adb bug report C:ReportsMyBugReports
    2) Upload your bugreport.zip to https://bathist.ef.lc
    3) You will get a very detailed graph from your battery usage.
    4) Now you can go through that list and find out what the issue is for your unusual drain.
    Tracking down the rogue app:
    1) Download the sh script from here: https://github.com/stooone/wakelock-source-hunter/
    2) Read the readme.md and edit the script for your wakelock.
    3) Uninstall all theme overlays or else it checks every app overlay.
    4) Go to your terminal of choice.
    5) Run
    Code:
    su
to run the script as root.
6 Navigate to your Download folder with "cd /sdcard/Download/"
    7) You can start the script with
    Code:
    sh wakelock-source-hunter.sh
When a user-app is the problem it might help to restrict background activity and restricting some permissions with App-ops.
