There are a lot of complaints in this mobile, and the complaint you have made is one hundred percent true and correct. My friend, I have had the same problem. But someone advised me to update the flash file / firmware. This is easily done from the stock room. I am trying. Please help any one....

Since I've updated my OP5T to Android 10, the battery levels have gone down real bad and I'm forced to charge my phone once in 2-3 hours. And if I'm playing any high end game such as PUBG, it gets much worse.

The company is offering my a 50 percent discount on battery replacement, should I get the battery replaced? Will it improve the battery performance of my phone again? Cause it's been 2 and a half years since i'd purchased this.

Tha battery was pretty great before that. Of course not the best since the phone is now 3 years old, but on Android 9 I went to bed with at least 30%, now I have to recharge already at 6pm. Please fix this!!

    Someone posted a link above.
Battery is linked to so many parameters that nobody can really help further. Applications, settings, network quality,.. I also run A10 and have no battery issue.

    Hello all,

Myself and my partner both have the 5T. he got the update about a month before me but today both of us are suffering from this problem. My battery is dropping about 20% an hour without use. I tried the wipe cache and the optimising all apps. Is this a widespread problem or is there another fix?

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for doing the leg work @A.Ismail90!

Same issue here with idle phone getting hot and draining the battery.
My partner has the 5t as well and she's not having the issue yet.

I updated mine a few weeks ago and didn't see the problem until yesterday. The phone was showing ~90% but then randomly shut down. I had to charge it for a few mins before it would power back up and it was then showing 1% battery. Since then I've had to keep it on charge most of the day.

Interesting that I didn't have the issue immediately after updating and also that my partner's phone is working fine.

Would love to see an update from OnePlus on the issue.

My partner is now having the same issue. Phone is worryingly hot while on dash charge with the original charger + cable.

I have had the same problem over the last few days. It was ok after update, but then something seems to have changed. AccuBattery shows that there is now no deep sleep mode, and with no foreground apps running it's using 660mA, and the phone feels hot to the touch.

Using a normal USB port to charge, the phone is now consuming more than the USB can supply(!). With a high current charger it can still charge faster than consumption. This is not right, and the phone is now effectively unusable unless plugged into a charger. Surely this counts as a critical issue - how do I flag it as such?

I'm wondering the same. I can't see anything on a quick scan of the oneplus website.

Maybe their twitter is the best way to go?

I see someone has already raised it there yesterday and again today but there's no update yet.

    Hi all,

So according to a reddit post, the Covid Tracker Ireland app has been updated and it's now draining battery life. Something to do with the update frequency increasing from 20 to 200.

I've uninstalled it so I'll report back in an hour or so to let you know if this fixes the battery issue.

Some improvement after uninstalling the Covid Tracker app and clearing the cache on Google Play Services but 70% charge only lasted about 4 hrs (without much use) .
I'm thinking there's some other app that's behaving the same as the Covid app but have yet to find it.

According to an article on the Irish Mirror website, it's caused by an update to Google play services which, in turn, caused the Covid app to go bonkers so I'd imagine other apps could be affected.
