It doesn't matter when you've charged your phone just check your screen on time. Having 6 hours itself is very good I can't see anything to complain.
You just used your phone too much on that day your phone can't be on for 24 hours can it

8h Screen on Time is good! so what Problem Are you trying to explain us?

I think that 9 hrs of SOT is incorrect. It happens when you partially charge your phone again and again. The SOT of all those partial charges add up instead getting reset for every charge.

The SOT should in fact be between 6 to 8 hours, ob iously depending on how heavily you use your phone. If I use a lot camera app always on brightest screen level, the SOT will be closer to 6h.

So there's nothing to worry except if you keep always connected on wifi, data connexion, Whatsapp, or heavy games..... Then there is nothing to di as these are high battery consumers.

I had this problem, and I am very light user, about 1 hour of screen time per day. Before the upgrade I would get about 36 -40 hours on a charge, after the upgrade, 6 hours.
Oneplus arrange an online session to downgrade my phone back to 5.1.5.
This has solved the battery drain, but now I have the Bluetooth instability issue in the car which I didn't have before!

Am using OnePlus 5 since its launch and it has been great. Recently updated to OB 22 and liking the taste of pie.

In the past month, I noticed a drop in the battery back up. I used to get 5hrs to 5.30hrs of SOT.

Now am getting only around 4hrs.

Just wanted to check the battery health. Any suggestions?

    How about geekbench?

What's the screen brightness level you use?
I use around 50% brightness and getting 4 hours SOT since a week. Earlier with same usage pattern I was getting 5.5 to 6 hours. I have a 5T

As everybody is telling you, your screen brightness might be high or you use the phone a lot.
If you want to be really sure, download Wakelock Detector [Lite] to see if you have any apps that are sucking your battery in the background and if there are, uninstall those apps and install alternatives or freeze the apps.

8 hour screen on time is definitely not bad. Its great. Have you had more than 8 hour screen on time before?

P.S. I Fully Formatted my device after the update and have already done battery calibration. Doesn't work. Seems like OP messed up something with the update.

I just realised that out 8 cores 4 of the high performance cores never go to sleep(they are never stopped) and the 4 low powered cores doesn't go lower than 518Mhz while the 4 high performance cores(which should be stopped when there is no high intensity task) cannot go lower than 806Mhz. won't it utilize more battery if they are always running. What's the point of having 4 efficient core and 4 high performance core if they are going to always stay active. Can someone Explain?
