I hope someone in oneplus would read this,
as I want to say that the SAR value of the oneplus 5 is too high,
the only reason why I didn't buy it is the super-high SAR value,
and I hope that the company pays attention to this subject when designing oneplus 5t/6.
If someone from Oneplus could comment and say something about it it would be great!

While the OnePlus 5 has "high" SAR values, it isn't out of range of SAR standards. It is within those standards. You should really stop worrying about SAR.

    Thread merged.
    As already stated:
Note that if the OP5 SAR values were higher than the standards limit set, then it would not be allowed to be sold.

Signal reception has nothing to do with SAR, which is related to the radio transmit power at the antenna. The higher the SAR, the better as far as the ability of the phone to contact a cell tower.

Smartphones use non-ionizing radiation (like light, infrared, AM/FM radio). The only impact of smartphones on living tissue (what SAR measures) is heating - measured as a few hundredths of a degree. Compare with the living tissue heating of a shower or heating pad - several degrees. Smartphone non-ionizing radiation is insignificant.

Ionizing radiation - X-Rays, gamma, ultraviolet are known causes of cancer. Dental X-Rays are the known major cause of glioma (brain cancer). Those are what you need to be careful with.

Not to mention it is also in the same standard as the iPhone 7 and Galaxy S7 Exynos version for EU and Huawei P9 Plus and Axon Pro for USA. So, it is well within standard and there are devices out there with higher values that are still within SAR standards.

I think that your brain is fried from the high SAR values. :D

Its well within limits, and also very similar to most other current smartphones (ie iPhone/Smasung S8) - https://www.devicespecifications.com/en/model-sar/8b1d43f8

how to measure radiation being generated by OnePlus 5.
in other systems it can be measured by simply *#07#.

I've just seen your comments. All in all, I think this topic is difficult to discuss. There is no proof that radiation is dangerous or not dangerous. In addition, SAR ratings are crap, because measurement rules change not only from country to country but also from year to year. The OP3 was measured within 15mm distance, the 3T was measured with 5mm distance, therefore the values are much higher although the build is the same. While we can for sure all agree that lower values are better (and therefore preferable as long as the reception is fine) there is not a lot to discuss because of the high amount of variables and unknowns.

Would like to know this as well, some phones with high values (even if they are in the legal limits) give me a migraine if i talk on them for more then a few min.

There is no proof that these values impact your health and cause cancer so don't worry about it.
