    Hi,

I was checking the SAR values of Oneplus 5T and I saw that the levels are very high compared to the previous devices (much higher).

This is one of the definitions of SAR according to EU: The Specific Absorption Rate is a measure for the energy absorbed by the body. Its measure is Watt per kilogram (W/kg). In order to avoid adverse health effects, the specific absorption rate of a mobile phone must not exceed 2 Watts per kilogram.

    These are the values:

According to FCC standard (US) highest allowed by the standard is 1.6 w/kg:
    Near ear: 1.38 w/kg (1g of tissue)
Worn on Body: 1.25 w/kg (1g of tissue)
    Reference: https://fccid.io/2ABZ2-A5010/RF-Exposure-Info/RF-Exposure-1-3617462

According to CE standard (EU) highest allowed by the standard is 2.0 w/kg:
    Near ear: 1.68 w/kg (10g of tissue)
Worn on Body: 1.71 w/kg (10g of tissue)

According to India's regulations; highest allowed by the standard is 1.6 w/kg:
    Near ear: 1.41 w/kg (1g of tissue)
Worn on Body: 0.51 w/kg (1g of tissue)

    According to IC standard (Canada):
    Head 1.38 W/kg
    Body 0.76 W/kg
    Reference: https://sms-sgs.ic.gc.ca/equipmentSearch/searchRadioEquipments?execution=e2s1

All the values are written on the Quick Start Guide shipped with the device.

Now as you can see the values are pretty high. I know it is still within range, but in some standards as in EU it is pretty close to the highest permissible limits. Check here the levels of previous devices according to EU standard were: goo.gl/bwezrL

Please comment with what you think about the topic. I believe Oneplus 5T is a amazing device but the SAR levels are close to critical levels.

No, I'm obviously not being sarcastic. This topic was discussed before for different device when the levels were very low. But the levels are increasing on every iteration. I did my research online and high levels do pose health issues.

If you want to respond to a post click the "reply" link. It's at the bottom right of the post.

    This does multiple things:
First it quotes the post you are replying to.
Second it notifies the original poster that someone replied to their post.
    Third it keeps things organized.

If you do not use the reply link, do not expect a response.
