Couldn't disagree more. Camera takes excellent shots even more after the recent update. Unedited samples attached.

frankly, as it stands now the OnePlus 7 pro camera is pretty shocking! I've come from a Mi Mix 3 (which admittedly does share it sensor the with pixel 3) and the mi mix 3 especially with the Gcam mod makes the OnePlus look like something from 5 years ago.

also the Gcam does massively improve the camera on the main sensor at least I took some images comparing nightscape and nightsight and pardon my language but the modded non official camera "shits all over" the OnePlus software. I do see this as a good thing though because it means that the potential is there in the hardware! so, hopefully OnePlus can rectify the camera. take a look at the images to see what I'm talking about.

Ugly flash glare ... night mode is supposed to be fleshless. Turned it off ...

Impossible to take good pictures of young kids with this camera. Always blur, lack of detail, and the shutter delay always misses the moments. If at least it had live pictures like Samsung...

Main sensor and lens also can't handle sun glare....even when sun is not in shot ( right above it). In one of my videos it's ruined by glare filling the footage in all directions.

And lastly, filming in 4k results in subject being a blur mess about 50% of the time. Lots of lost moments...filmed in massive 4k files of blur mess. Blur kills detail, how useless 4k is on this device.

I'm likely returning and getting S10+ mainly for this reason and HDR video playback issues.

Or maybe some dumbasses can't take a picture?

Or maybe these supposed dumb asses expect better because their photos came out much better with other phones. If someone uses other phones that take better pictures and then they aren't as good for OnePlus what does that mean? So all the talk about the OnePlus photos compared to the competition is smoke and mirrors? even ride or die OnePlus users have been complaining about camera quality. don't get me wrong. I can get some good pictures but with many other phones it was way more often. with many phones I didn't miss great moments or have them come out looking bad. If you have to be a camera pro then what's the point? point and shoot good photo at least most of the time is the goal. Itay not be 1000 dollars but when you say never settle dont make customers settle on the 1st or second most important part of a smart phone. some may so it's not important but guess what phone sales and so much customer feedback will show.

Allot of us in here are enthusiasts and we feel the camera isn't up to par. No we don't expect a DSLR but we expect the same level of picture like the competition. if so many of us are like that think about the general consumer. that's what OnePlus wants. they want the sales and u don't see them going where they want if they don't raise their camera game significantly.

Unless you have both phones present at the same time and the same angle, you can't compare.

We see this on the forums EVERY device release. Sometimes every camera update.

If dxomark accepted bribes than the Samsung camera would be MUCH higher in tests! They got plenty of money.

Other cameras take better pics? Maybe! Check these macro shots. The first is a CAT skull, so its super zoomed ....

Overall, I still prefer my S7 Edge for taking pictures....it's the device I'm upgrading from... so don't blame me for expecting more from this camera.

Every day I use this camera is lost memories. I rarely have a good shot unless the subject is perfectly still. We went to a zoo this weekend...barely any good pictures of any animals. They move.

I mean every phone before this one blew me away in cam department. Now I'm not just underwhelmed, I'm disappointed. If you've ever tried the live photo feature of Samsung, you understand how critical it is for taking pictures of motion. Most of the world moves, unless they are mature enough to hold still and stare at your camera.

your cat skull and grasshopper were perfectly still. Show me how many failed pictures you had instead of moving things.

The worst is one of my main reasons for upgrading is cameras have evolved over the years in terms of low light, HDR, motion, zoom and wide shots. With this phone, not enough boxes are being ticked compared with competition.

I already have it. I've had other OnePlus phones. actually I've had over 60 flagships since 2009. Ugh ‍♂️ I might have a problem. anyway I've compared OnePlus phones against my other flagships every year. I've taken great pictures. the biggest thing for me is consistency at this point. Google Samsung and Apple have been better overall for me. I do t want to bash OnePlus and think overall with OnePlus they are number 1. I'm at the point we're I don't want to keep switching phones. if on plus nailed the camera like I hope they can I'd be the first to sing their praise's. I take allot of pictures ( 4 kids, a dog, and a big family. if I didn't have those other phones I don't think I'd be here saying anything about the camera. as far as bribing and all that other talk I have no clue and don't care . DXO does seem a little suspect to me though. Anyway I'm still going to enjoy this 7 Pro to the max. This year I won't be tricked by Google for the next Pixel. at least with OnePlus my phone's performs the same later down the road as if it were right out of the box. I can't say that for Google or Samsung lol.

You didn't do your homework. Oneplus phones have always been crap at motion.

And those samole pics are from a 2014 camera. It was NOT with the stock camera.

Your options are to wait for updates, install Gcam port (still im infancy for 7 pro), or trade in the device. I'm doing the first two since I like options.

    OMG. Really?

    Flickers indoors right?

You have LED or CF lights, which flicker at the AC wall frequency, usually 60Hz. If your camera is faster than the lights, its gonna show the flicker! Basic physics!

Take the camera outside or use incandescent bulbs

I'm in the same boat..I want it all, but in 1 device :(

I bought the s10+ and will likely return this OP 7 Pro. The camera is more consistent with better features, the display may not be 90Hz, but that's only good for browsing menus. Games play in 60Hz or 120Hz, movies 24, 30 or 60fps (same as Hz). The OP 7 Pro doesn't play HDR content properly in Netflix and Plex. I'm sure Samsung has nailed that with their TV experience and the fact the s10 displays pump out peaks over 1,000 NITs..needed for proper HDR

Yeah I don't know if I'd go so far as to say the old S7 is better but I don't have it anymore. I just compair to what's current. OnePlus is still killing the game though.

You do NOT need 1000 nits for HDR. I think my TV is 600 and its incredible ... burns your retinas in a dark room. The 800 of the OP7 Pro is more than enough.

    TVs are basically $1/nit !
