Mobile data exclamation point

Hey guys I know that this thread was already posted in the past but I haven't been able to find a solution so here I go.
In the last few weeks there has been an exclamation point near my 4g mobile data symbol. That being said WhatsApp and messenger usually work (like many apps that uses mobile data) but when I try to look something up on Google or when I try to visit a web page, it says that I'm not connected.
I have tried to reset the network settings from the network and backup settings but nothing.
Do you have any tips or solutions?? This is really annoying me.

    UPDATE:

My SIM carrier is Tim (I'm Italian)
I went to the apn settings and chose ibox.tim.it (TIM WEB) instead of the default wap.tim.it (WAP TIM)
It seems to work fine now, still I don't know the difference between the two settings, care to explain to a noob like me?? xD

    Try this

    Disable wifi and radio.
    Then settings - more - cellular network - preferred network - 3G
Return to home screen, wait a minute while it connects up. When it connects the exclamation should be gone.
Now go back and switch to 4G and it should connect again without exclamation

My best guess is power down your phone, pull your sim, then reinsert it.
    Then power it up.
For whatever reason, it's not recognizing your service provider.

Should have maybe reboot phone after switching to 3g?
Anyway you can try again what I suggested except reboot or you can try this.
    1. Add a new user
    2. Go ahead with the user setup
    3. When it's searching for networks shut down the power.
= and after reboot the exclamation mark is gone
Unfortunately lots of tricks are trial and error, if that doesn't work you can try other things like
    >First go to settings
    >Delete all apn Settings
    >Then go back to Settings >Mobile Network Settings >Access Point Names >Open the three dots on the right hand corner
    > Reset toDefault.
All trial and error. Good luck

First thing is : Our phones usually verify if we are connected to internet by making some ping requests to a predefined server (e.g. www.google.co.uk). If it's showing exclamation, it means you are not able to reach that server.

Second thing is: You are saying that whatsapp is working fine. Some network providers provide free access to some websites though you haven't recharged with any data plan. This is called "free basics" by Facebook.

So, check if you have any data plan active on your number or if there's anything is wrong with your mobile account by calling up the customer care.

I see, since I do have a data plan I guess I'll call them to check up if anything is wrong, thanks for the tip

    Hello,

I also changed my Vodafone Romania SIM about 2 months ago due to issues with the network (same exclamation mark next to the 4G / 3G icon). Since then i had 2 more episodes. I didnt manage to find a fix after performing the following:
    - hard reset
    - installed a local betta OS
    - remote session with L2 OnePlus technician; a complete flush of the phone was performed.
My 6T fully recovered by itself after approx 8 hours after the tech guy finished the reset - so the recovery had nothing to do with the intervention. I am sending the phone to service today and hoping i will get a different diagnosis and not "could not replicate".

P.S. issue is not occuring if you use Orange Romania.

Hey gents, I'm in Canada. I have a 7 Pro and have the same issue consistently for the last week, I've replaced both my sim card multiple times to no avail. I'm on Bell's network they've been extremely helpful but are just as clueless as I am. I've tried everything suggested above to no avail as well. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having this same issue I'm the US on Google Fi Network. I have found after restarting the phone a couple time it connects back up, I mainly have this problem if I go to an area with no service at all and try and reconnect such as a parking garage. currently trying switching my APN to only ipv4.
