    Hi All,

I have found a way to reverse the USB connector from a doc made by Belkin, originally for the Samsung phones.

The dock can be found here:

    http://www.belkin.com/au/F8M389-Belkin/p/P-F8M389/

In order to complete this mod you'll need :-

    1. Phillips head screw driver;
    2. Standard screw driver; and
    3. Sharp knife (Exacto or equivalent).

Usual disclaimers apply when making modifications such as this, if you injure yourself, or your phone suddenly immits smoke, then your on your own!!

The doc has the USB connector which is back to front for the OPO...

The bottom is covered with a rubber adhesive cover which can be pealed off...
Remember to keep the bottom for when your finished...

    Remove the screws...

Remove the ballast and the cable...

Using the standard screw driver, lever the cover away from the base and then slide it out from the top...

You can see where the adhesive is applied...

Remove some of the plastic supports that will impede the new cable route...

Using the sharp knife, trim down the remains of the plastic supports so its smooth...

Re-insert the the cover and the cable, you'll need to carefully line up the cable like below...

Replace the weight and slide the grommet down the cable so it fits in place...

Using the knife again, cut a grove in the base cover for the new cable path...

Replace the cover and screw the screws back in then re-apply the adhesive rubber pad...

The doc should show no sign of the mod once finished and look completely normal.
I've been using this for just under a week without any problem. I charge my phone connected to my PC. Takes a little longer but works fine. I haven't tried it with the factory or any other wall charger as yet.

Considering the lack of suitable factory alternatives, and the degree of modification here, this is for those that are more adventurous....

If I encounter any problems, I'll post back.

    Cheers Harpo_74

Just a pic of the phone happily charging away. Also if fits with the Nillkin hard shield case attached as well.

I had wanted to do this to my Belkin dock before but did not think it was possible after opening it up. Thanks to your guide I got down to it and took about 10 minutes to mod the dock to fit my One. Cheers.
