Super great photos
my lovely wife..
I have to admit as a new 1+ user, the lack of an in app mono setting for the native camera app is quite something of a disappointment and a missed opportunity for the company. The gallery app does a passable job of converting to mono and my favourite editor Picsay Pro too works well, but I like to have a feel for the tonality and contrast on the screen when I'm composing the shot. *seeing* in mono at the point of capture is one of the things I enjoy that digital photography can give over 35mm.
I'm exploring different camera apps at the moment to find one that best meets my wants. Open Camera so far is doing best, but the simplicity otherwise of the 1+ native app is a bonus that it's a shame to be forced away from. Hey hum, moan over, fingers crossed it is something that may be incorporated in future upgrades.
Since it's a photo thread here is just a quickie pic of me and mah dawg converted from colour. Looking forward to contributing to the thread as I get my eye properly in with whatever app I pick.
do recommend the app .

Made by my 11 year old son.
Converted to B&W by his old man
Reflections: My little old yaught

Converted with Google Photo.
To monochrome or not to monochrome
The original picture barely had any colour. The sight of these old Dutch flat bottom sailing boats racing was a fantastic sight to see, the ships are usually some 50 feet long, and were used for freight and fishing in the past, so it's a race of behemoths.
The little boat in front is for the contest officials.
Taken by my brother, My one year old nephew, looking out of the window, This pic was meant to be in monochrome. The lights fall so softly on his face and body. I like the simplicity of the frame .. no distracting objects.
