Speed is a good thing, but the next things are even more important to me:
    • Water resistance
    • Larger / removable battery
    • No glass back side
    • Keep the Jackplug
    • Good speakers and camera would be nice, but not essential

And the next onneplus is absolutely mine!

I think with snapdragon 845 vs 835, it will help the battery life by at least 30% and extra layer of security will make one plus more secure. So snapdragon is must. However, being said we do need the best display and camera, everything else comes next.

The only thing I feel needs improvement is their camera system. Go back to OIS, then put it on each camera lens on the dual setup. Then use the HQ mode that was on the 3t (I don't know if that exists on the 5 or 5t). Use larger pixel sizes, like 1.5µm or higher while still using the 1.7 or larger aperture size. This is me, but I just do not care about UHD screens or even waterproofing phones.

Unfortunately we live in a consumerist world nudged on by intense marketing to have the best "looking" phone. That mindset takes hold over the practical purposes of a smartphone. On a screen no larger than one's hand, the average user is not going to notice a difference in picture quality.

I don't know why so many people are so bent up about water resistance. I usually don't have the urge to take my phone on a swim, drop it in toilets, etc.

Must be the shape of water...

As for the dropping in whatever liquid mishaps, I'm not so concerned about that as being out in a downpour.

So you would expose your phone during a downpour? When it starts raining, how quickly do you place your phone out of the rain?

No. Hopefully it's already in a pocket, but even so, if your clothes get soaked chances are pretty good the phone in your soaked pocket will get wet.
