when i tap the multitasking key there is often a 3+ second delay before anything happens and the multitasking function begins. if i reboot the device, it is snappy.

    That's unusual. 6Gb variant?

    Mine is really snappy despite/regardless:

Could be hardware but more likely software issue.

Perhaps update to more recent version of oxygen os "beta"

Maybe a "root tweak" is interfering (if rooted)

Based on reboot fix, it might be a conflicting app(s) or you may need a cache clearing manager app (I use sd maid)

    Clear unused storage if possible.

You could learn to debug/find the reason via a debug logger app. "Catlog"

If factory reset & cleaning of phone doesn't work. Might be hardware issue... get in contact with support & send it in for repairs.

oh yeah, you may have malware or something. review your "services" apps that run in the background. they consume ram which would make it run slow as well.

Going to assume that's some telecom provider in USA or something?

I'm not sure how America operates but service providers have no influence in how the phone was designed or functions in Australia other than provide the ability to call & supply data.

If you tried all those pointers suggested, maybe flash a different version of the update? otherwise learn to debug, suit a bug report, ask for help via support chat line or request for repair.

    Good luck bud :)
