I would most definitely do that.

It's time people stopped believing that bullshit honestly.

people need to read up. The reason why its not dual SIM is Qalcomm X50 modem limitation. Not something OnePlus did not bother to add.

Not being funny I don't read modem specs when looking for a phone I read the manufacturers advertised spec then buy the one that I think is best. At the time I purchased mine both OnePlus and EE said it was dual sim

Super frustrated. Read a bunch of reviews on this and checked the EE specs when it first came out - nothing mentioned it was single sim. Went and got the 5G phone from EE yesterday and didn't assume the spec would change to single sim. My fault I guess for not reading up again online but realised today it's single sim. Wondering whether to return it or not now.. I need dual for personal and work sims - been great over the last couple of years with the 1+5.

I've checked my Vodafone sim and it works fine in the EE 5G phone - so it's not locked. I wonder if getting a dual sim tray will help test further? Or do the internal mechanics on the phone just not support dual sims?

Question - does the One Plus 7 Pro support dual sims? Thinking I can swap for the One Plus 7 Pro.

T-mobile in the US is the same. It seems most mobile providers with locked phones only allow a single sim on their phones.

The EE one isn't locked. May just be a T-Mobile us thing then.

Most major carriers phones in the US tend to be locked. Unless you BYOP to that carrier.

The Unlocked 7P is dual sided for Nano sims. EE's phone version I have no idea.

I accidently bought the OnePlus 7 Pro direct from OnePlus in the UK as I assumed it was 5G, it wasn't so I sent it back to OnePlus and got the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G on a two year contract from EE.

Was disappointed to see that the 5G version no longer had the dual sim tray. Is this a hardware issue? Or is it possible to get a dual sim tray that will work?

Mobile Phone providers can specify certain options they want on the phones they sell. EE probably did not choose the double sided sim tray. US mobile providers do the same thing. Also the double sim option has to be turned on in the phones software.

I don't see any options to turn on dual sim in SIM & Network settings, it's like it has been disabled by EE....

I definitely think this phone scratches easier. My Oneplus three in 3 years never had any major scratches. I scratched the 7 Pro within the first 3 months I had it. Phones face just seems softer.

The 5G model from T-mobile in America is dual sim'd, however it's software locked, I dont have a OP7 pro 5g yet, so I cant confirm if its the same issue, however, it seems to be the case that both the EE and the T-mobile version's have dual sim's.

However, theres two negative parts about activating the second sim.

    - I don't know how to, and I can't find out any information retaining to the EE version, it might be as simple as unlocking a oneplus 5, which is basically, tapping developer mode, rebooting, and typing in "oem unlock" in a terminal, or it might be as tedious as the T-Mobile American version, which seems to require a multitude of applications to get anywhere with.

    - If you do activate the 2nd sim slot, you'll loose any ability to connect to 5g, perhaps this will change if OnePlus can update and upgrade the firmware behind the modem, but I don't think they'd put that effort in, and if they where going to put that effort in, I don't see why they wouldn't have done it for launch.
