My OPO keeps randomly vibrating?

So my OPO just randomly started vibrating yesterday and it's the most irritating thing.
There are no notifications when I check but it occurs when I'm actually using my phone and it's not in my pocket.

    Can anyone help please?

Maybe new email? I don't get email notifications but it does vibrate... Depends on your settings and email app though

It's either a software issue or a grounding issue with the vibration motor.

Try backing up your files and do a factory reset. If that doesn't fix the trouble, the problem might be with the hardware, in which case you're better off going the RMA route.

    Good luck.

It's a bother doing a factory reset and losing all my data

Make sure it's not set in sex toy mode. That's often the problem.
If you can't get the setting to change, then either a factory reset, or try first a dirty install (if you're using a custom ROM)

Is there and actual setting that can determine whether this happens or not?

Well, there's titanium backup for user installed apps and data.

Google also automatically backs up some of your stuff like your contacts (Assuming that you added them into your Google account when prompted) and the apps that you got from the play store. (Although the data of those apps that aren't cloud based would probably be lost forever.)

If you're rooted, there are a couple of apps that can do most of this (though you will probably still lose settings and the like). If you're not rooted, it's all manual.

Are you sure it's not just vibrating when you're connecting to a bluetooth device, or something to that affect?

Have a look at the running apps
    (Settings/Apps/Running)

Stop all the apps that you not need and uninstall the apps that you don't need anymore

(Be remain that if you stop the service such as WhatsApp / Skype, you can't get any push notifications)
