It's not necessarily due to fragility, it's physics, point of landing.

I actually dropped mine yesterday at work, right around 3 feet as I was taking it out of a drawer. I had grasped it along the edges, a habit I've gotten into w/my last few phones that had the slick, rounded plastic backs like my note 2. Anyway, it popped out of my fingers and I panicked. My office is at the back of a Fab shop, the floor is just a cheap laminate over concrete. It landed screen down, but didn't break.

Granted, I know I was lucky, but a lot is how it lands. I had a G2x w/Gorilla 2 glass that fell an equal distance and spiderwebbed. It landed at such an angle that the the corner took the initial impact. Causing the full force of it to a smaller area.

I know the glass on the OPO isn't any kind of reinforced glass, or at least I haven't seen anything advertising it as such, but we take chances.

I feel bad for what happened to you man, but I don't know that this should be covered by OnePlus.

Oh my god, that is so violently shattered! Thank you for the heads up. My phone should be arriving in a few hours. I will make sure to only use it when I am in a carpeted room until I buy a screen protector. I am so sorry and thank you for posting this.

Thats the trouble with buying devices from small manufacturers where they don't have after sale centre in your country and spare parts are limited

Its easy to break a glass at the corner near the edge. It hard to break it at the middle of the glass. A screen protector can help.

I wouldn't expect any sort of warranty on that, on purpose or not a drop is a drop. What's alarming with these phones is no matter what, it's glass and glass breaks, no real way around it.

My son has the one plus one, in the one plus case which is worthless, the case itself is cracking around all four corners and it's only been applied once. Cracking on it's own, not going to offer any sort of protection if the damn thing breaks just sitting there.

Phone and case, for what it's worth are going on swappa soon.

damn that looks painful, specially when i know that i am waiting on mine to come...
i am wondering though, if you had tempered glass screen protector on, would the screen stay whole, and would you crack only the screen protector ??
because i will gonna get tempered glass screen protector for mine 1+, and hoping that it will do some good to my phone if it drops :/
