    Hi 🙂

This empty folder entitled "json" appears repeatedly in my phone's default download folder (storage/emulated/0/Download)...

It's not harmful, just a minor annoyance...Can anyone help determine what's causing this and whether it's possible to stop it?

    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

It could be any of your installed application that creates the folder.

    Hi,

    1) Could you or anyone reading this assist with narrowing it down to a specific app?

    2) Would posting a screenshot of the folder's detailed properties be relevant?

    Edit:

    Here's the initial properties details...

This is the time of folder creation...

...tried to match that time with my Google Activity, but there aren't many clues. I started using the Chrome browser about seven minutes prior to the folder creation, that's all I can glean.

When I click on the path address, this pop-up happens...

    ...does "com.mixplorer.activities.BrowseActivity@3d5cfaa" have any relevance?

Finally, here's the info after clicking "Group: everybody..."

(...someone please let me know if any of that is sensitive info that shouldn't be posted on a forum like this.)

Json is a format to parse data to send over the internet. Apps with access to the storage could very well be reading and uploading your downloaded data to their own services... You might want to format the device and just keep important and trusted apps on it

To check if it's Chrome Browser...

Go into Settings-> Downloads -> turn on "Ask where to save files"...

Usually you should get a pop-up before the file is saved..
