please tell me why the navbar only wants to be white half the time? if it went with the app colour I wouldn't mind using the navbar button, I actually prefer it sometimes. but it is annoying when I open a pitch black app, and have a white navbar, but if I pull my keyboard up, the navbar is black, (Gboard is pink) why?

Probably because not all apps had written the part of the code that tells the navbar API to change colour.

That app is a bridge for apps that doesn't do that natively.

I'm just saying, if ressurection remix has it, then it's not up to the "developers of the apps you use" it's on oneplus.

Nope it is not. App dev's responsibility is to write codes to let the OS know it wants to Nav bar to change colour. Not the other way around. There are apps that does that as a bridge in between as a middle man.

I wasn't referring to that OS.
If you are installing an custom OS, you would have have root access to do whatever you want anyways.

it's still an operating system, an operating system who's navbar is NOT an app, and even WITHOUT root, can change navbar colour, based off of the app. it is simply integrated into the operating system.

after trying it out for about 30 minutes, it doesn't stay the colour sometimes, and it doesn't change the button colour themselves to white, gray, or black.

It works fine for me. I have it set to auto-color based on app and had no issues.
