Yes, but if I backup then install the rom, will that backup be erased? Can I restore all my apps after installation?

No. Your backup will not be erased after wiping data(in order to install your new ROM). However, if you wipe internal storage before installing the rom, your backup will most definitely be erased. Use titanium backup to backup all your apps before the ROM installation and then you can restore after the ROM installs.

So the wipe will not affect the titanium backup folder either?

If you change your backup path to "/Internal Storage" when you back up then it won't.

Just to be on the safe side, copy those backups to a computer or cloud service. I erased backups in the past by mistake (wiped sdcard) and was glad I had backups elsewhere.

You can used adb pull in recovery. It's slow, but it works.

    Unlocking the bootloader will! ;)
And flashing a ROM, you'll lose all your apps! :D
Do some research first though! :p

The recovery stores the backups in the recovery folder itself..
And when you do a complete wipe using the recovery, it doesn't wipe itself out..
So, I'm guessing that the backup should be safe..

    PS: Not sure although..

So if I make a titanium backup, it will still be there after erasing data?

wipe data just erases /data partition (where apps and system saves data), but don't touch the internal storage, where usually Titanium storage the backups.
