ayan1mandal , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 2, 2020 : Hello, After the 15.5.5 update, Netflix only playing in SD. Seems Widevine DRM downgraded to L3 from L1. This is EU varient. Running origin ROM, bootloader - View attachment 1297297 Verified the same using DRM Info app - View attachment 1297299 From Netflix app - View attachment 1297298 Anyone facing the same? Note - Got update for 15.5.6. Still facing the same.
lunzi88 , May 2, 2020 : did you unlock your bootloader? Once you unlocked from what I understand widevine auto goes from L1 to L3
hunner , May 2, 2020 : I can confirm that this is the case on my OP8P right now too. Bootloader locked. Just logged in netflix after years to check this out. Prime video is certanly SD as well. In the DRM info app it's L3 for me too. I watched 4K UHD content in Prime video yesterday before i run the 2 updates on OP8P, so im pretty sure it's on their end.
MarkoBatrac , via OnePlus 8 Pro Glacial Green , May 2, 2020 : I am on same build, locked bl ,all stock.. and my widevine is L1..
ayan1mandal , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 2, 2020 : No Bootloader is locked. Something to do with recent update I guess.
hunner , May 2, 2020 : I know it's hard to understand and read what i and ayan1mandal just said, but i can assure you, me personally used Prime Video before 10.5.5 and 10.5.6 with high definition video streams (eg higher res than L3 approved 480p). Only thing changed from the time between i watched my shows and now, is the two updates, which was pushed my device yesterday night. I am happy that you are replying, but you just can't say what you said that is not an update issue, just because you don't have it, while there are both of us with the issue explained clearly. It's not helping the discussion.
ayan1mandal , via OnePlus 5 , May 2, 2020 : No. It is locked. I booted into fast boot ( vol down + power on restart). It says bootloader locked. Very strange indeed !!!
Khai Nguyen , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 2, 2020 : same problem here. Never unlock the bootloader but winevine is l3. Mine is on 10.5.6
Vikky1994 , via OnePlus 6 Amber Red , May 2, 2020 : it could be due to the fact that Netflix is lowering it's bandwidth in Europe due to covid-19? it was in the news recently
MarkoBatrac , via OnePlus 8 Pro Glacial Green , May 2, 2020 : I am not saying that you are not telling the truth or whatever.. That is really strange issue, which is only connected with bootloader ( unlocked). As yours is locked, best contact support or report it as a bug. I hope it will be solved for you asap
MarkoBatrac , via OnePlus 8 Pro Glacial Green , May 2, 2020 : That is also possible.. but I am in Europe and I have L1..maybe you guys can contact Netflix support also
Khai Nguyen , via OnePlus 8 Pro , May 2, 2020 : I am in the US. My bootloader was never unlocked but Widevine is L3. I can playback HD, 4k Netflix content on my desktop so I believe the problem is the phone
hunner , May 3, 2020 : Wrote a "bugreport" to their twitter support account, got a response, will update when i get them annswer the DM i just sent.
Tyrion_2210 , May 3, 2020 : Looking fine here. I'm on 10.5.6 and Wildwine in the Netflix app ist still in L1.
Khai Nguyen , May 3, 2020 : I talked to customer support, he said that I have to send my device in to "upgrade widevine lense"
