    any update?

No answer yet from twitter, altough support replied to my email, their first response was: send the phone in with RMA Repair request and then the technicians will look into that and install L1 back. I asked if this is the official and only solution as i'm pretty much would prefer a remote future ota fix even, rather than rma a 5day phone, so waiting their answer on that channel too.

So I know that a lot of the streaming services are intentionally downgrading video quality to 1080p or even 720p in some areas to save bandwidth during coronavirus lockdowns. If you haven't already, maybe you could check and see if you're region is being affected?

No point to look into that. The phone cleary lost it's DRM L1 security level somehow and set back to L3 (the basic level for 540p max)
Yesterday i watched netflix in uhd on my pc on the same network where my phone wont receive HD content. It's the phone, nothing else. Thanks for the reply anyway.

Well sorry to hear that. It's working on my phone with L1 security level. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!

i really hope that the DRM key is locked/unreadable and can be fixed by a software update. I really don't want to send this device in for such a minor issue that happened for no reason.

Did a factory reset but no luck. OnePlus support has asked me to collect log and send it back to them for further analysis. Will keep posted.

to those people who have the issue, did you clear cache after every software update?
I did and I have the issue.
Not sure of that is the reason why some people have the issue and some don't.

i am going to roll back to 10.5.4 and see what happens

Edit: can't downgrade to 10.5.4. Instead, I downloaded a full 10.5.6 firmware image and flashed that firmware to the phone, WideVine is still L3

I have been seeing this thread and check my Widevine version through the updates, since I got the phone with 10.5.4 and I must say that still is L1 for me and I installed today the latest 10.5.6 version.

Maybe something wrong with the device?.

    What's better Level 1 or 3?

Just upgraded to the top Netflix plan and it says in the app my max resolution is Full HD. It also says I'm on Widevine 1.

I ran the display tester video and it didn't go above 1920x1080. I set my Netflix account and phone settings to max.

It does say HDR on some series though. Not sure if I have the top quality or not? Assuming it should say the max is QDH?

l1 is better than l3. L1 allows you to watch at 1080p. L3 is only 580p or something like that.
